I'm glad Mary and you still talk. I'm still friends with most of my exs. I believe you can still be friends with exs, although i prefer to call them friends now. It makes things easier when I'm talking about it with my gf, she's knows who they are and about the past i shared with them, but saying "ex" to me makes it feel like there's some sort of desire left. And "friend" is a simple term. But that's just me. So what do you think... Can one still be friends with their ex?
