@jadespics I was there and the police held Forest in, they walked up warwick road and no-one got hammered. To say 10,000 Forest fans got hammered is hilarious.
We got hammered on kilburn high road though i'll give you that, all 80 of us lol heavily outnumbered by about 400 United. Impressive, i wrote Cockney Reds on my mum's outside bog door after that day.
Everybody knows Man Utd are virtually untouchable because of their numbers, but on equal numbers they are just like any other decent firm.
This was one of the best days of my life! It was my 14th birthday and my Mum got us tickets as a birthday present. The Mancs were telling us on the way in that Forest would get a pasting. Typical day in Manchester; soaking wet. I was in a lurid yellow ski jacket (such was the fashion at the time) and took an air horn and couldn't stop blasting it on the final whistle among 12,000 fellow Forest fans. To this day, I know Motty's commentary for that goal off by heart. Oooh-aaaah Franzy Carr!
@Dijon001 They were a good side back then Forest but it should have gone to a replay. McClair's shot was half a yard over the line and Hill was a few yards away yet somehow missed it! I was stood right behind it on the Stretty and I think even the Forest players knew it was over.
Interesting to note that if that goal had been given, it would have been United-Liverpool in the semi, which probably would have been held at Maine Road, and Hillsborough would never have happened.

I meant to say that it *could* have been a United-Liverpool semi as if the 'goal' had been given it would of course only have made it 1-1.
