  • How I miss my beloved "ou Klapoor" We gave it that name because of the side panels in the front. I never could find the real reason but I suppose their purpose was to push the smoke stack higher into the air and thus minimizing contact (especially with the eyes) of small ash particles with passengers. Or am I wrong?

  • @oomblikkies ,Purpose is to lift the smoke clear of the locomotive so the Driver and Fireman have a clear view of the track when moving ,there would be still cinders falling back down on the train.

  • Interesting load on the first wagon in the first train, presumabely hay. Nice afternoon shot of the double header, the 3rd trains whistle seems to be blown by P. O., the driving style, too!
