Because you don't want to cheat, you should use the town services to fulfill some of their needs. You can't shower or use the toilet at home with no walls (unless the Sim is alone, or it is the husband & wife). Go to the town pool for showers and toileting needs everyday. A trip twice a day should do the trick. Oh and if you don't pay your bi-weekly bills the repo-man will come and take stuff from your house to compensate for the bill.

@hybridpanda Cool dude well I'm having a blast watching if I'm honest. Just make a small room with the toilet in it and eventually you'll need to do the same with the shower. You noticed here that your whole family is "stinky" that's because no one wants to take a shower. It happens occasionally but that's only because everyone else goes outside. I bet you noticed the entire family being outside every now and then eh? That is the only way people can shower or shit atm.
