I went to a United Pentecostal Church. And, they had powerful worship services. They were awesome. And, I felt God there. But, the "man of God" seemed to be a LOT more interested in the money (and material gains he could achieve while here on Earth). The Bible condemns that. It says that we are not supposed to lay up treasures down here, but rather in Heaven where it will last for eternity. But, couldn't tell him that. Does POA help it's members when they need it? The Church I went to wouldn't.

What I get out of the lyrics is that we want God for the fact that He is God. Not for the fact that He will bless us. Just as we worship God because He is God. We praise Him for what He has done but we worship for who He is. Abraham went into the mountain to worship when he took Issac to sacrifice as he was commanded to do. But he said that he was going up to worship and he told Issac that God would provide. He was making a statement that he would worship Him because He was the provider ........
the song says clearly "we don't want ANYTHING BUT YOU!" meaning...we arent looking for blessings or healings when we worship God all we want is God and to feel His presence...I mean blessings and healings and miracles are wonderful but Jesus is better...much better...I love seeing people blessed and healed and touched but all those are meaningless without Jesus...
When you think about it that sounds kind of selfish. You only want Him because He blesses you not because He saved you and allows you to live everyday. To not want the blessing is basically a cry to God letting Him know its not all about getting blessings all the time. Sometimes its about just feeling His presence. That's just what i get out of it.

@ahatheway7 If you listen to all the lyrics of the song, you realize that it's an in-the-moment thing. The song is like a prayer. It's saying that right now I'm putting myself and my needs to the side to just worship You and feel Your amazing presence. That's all I want in this moment. There are plenty of other times to pray for blessings. I think it's important to put our needs to the side sometimes and just worship God for who He is and be thankful for what He has already done. :-)
