I like the tone color of trombone because it is so powerful than any instrument even on valved trumpets, but in Greensleeves, I will prefer trumpets because trombone's power do not fit the sweetness of its notes, so it appears harsh.
@TheLfwjo personally, I think (high school) trumpets can be even more harsh than the trombone... but I think greensleeves would sound wonderfully smooth and sweet with euphoniums and tubas
@clarenceandbilly I agree, I like it on trombones/euphoniums/tubas. That's how we played it last year for our Christmas concert, though our bass trombone player wanted the solo
