And amazing teaching we need to hear the pronunciation of the letters! im gonna check the rest of your vids to find out more! Thanks a lot!

  • The IPA system is really easy to use. And it helps people distinguish the sounds they are pronouncing. Do you know someone who has studied Linguistics? Maybe he / she might help. Thanks for having done all the work to present Arabic to the Internet.

  • I enjoyed your video. I have a few questions for you.

    1. What software are you using?

    2. Does the software run on a PC running Microsoft Windows XP?

    3. Did you use a pen and tablet connected to you PC for this video?

    Thanks.

  • @peeps33 :

hey, please find my video "message to viewers #1"

and yes it works on windows XP and yes I'm using a pen + tablet :)

  • Your accent is excellent. Let's hope my Arabic accent is as good as your English.

But, I would like to learn the sounds of Arabic using IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), and perhaps some simple conversations before beginning the Arabic alphabet.

  • @yarmo28: thank you :)

I don't know how to use the IPA sadly :S

the conversation stuff are coming after I finish the basics of reading :)

  • Arabic really has the most elegant writing ever

  • like to see more

  • Assalamu Aleykum. Thank you for the video. Please keep posting new videos. The program you are using is making it easier to understand. Shukran Jezeelan

  • As Salaam u 'Alaikum

    Jazaak Allaahu Khairun

  • @IsmiWSA

you souldn't add "un" at the end of Khairun if your sentence ends with this word.... in arabic we write the equivalent mark of "un" but do not pronounce them if we going to stop at the word "Khairun"

  • @basa9001

    Jazaak Allaahu Khair

    brother

  • I've endured a somewhat frustrating experience with Arabic vowels (long, short and so-called diphthongs). Firstly, there's a great deal of contradiction regarding the mark at the top of the letter (fatha): bottom (kasra) and small waaw shape on top (dama). Some suggest "a" as in "pat"; "i" as in "pit" and "u" as in "put" respectively, in lieu of "sot", "seat", "suite" as you suggest. If what you are saying is correct than please explain how the other aforementioned vowels can exist..

  • @BilaalUSA: "sot" "seat" "suite"?? I'm not sure what you are refereeing to here.. :S

the fatha, kasra, damma produces sounds like you said ( a" as in "pat"; "i" as in "pit" and "u" as in "put") although I like to think the damma produces a sound of "oo" as in "foot". :)

and the only difference between the long and short vowels are the duration of pronunciation.

  • just ordered rosetta stone arabic 1 2 & 3, looking forward to learning a new language, will probably refer to a youtube vid or two to help along the way.

  • Who are some of the greatest/well-known Arabic authors in the last 200 or so years? What are some of the greatest pieces of literature that were written by Arabic speaking authors?

  • @SanguineBullet667 : well some of the famous authors that comes to my mind are Nizar Qabbani, Naguib mahfouz and Kahlil Gibran.

and the greatest pieces of literature was not written in the last 200 years but more in the like in the last 2000 years as sadly the fluency of Arabs degraded with time, and they are mostly Poetry not books! I recommend that you read the article "Arabic literature" in wikipedia. : )

  • an invaluable resource; this is by far the best free tutorial I've come across on the web. Thank you very much for taking the time to create these. Are you a native speaker of arabic?

  • you are welcome :)

    yes I am =)

  • @tragictravisty Thank you :) yes I am a native speaker

  • كلمة واحدة فقط وهي العربية

  • This is the exactly Indian English u r speaking. Anyhow,i like it.

  • Which countries is Arabic spoken in? How many different types of "Arabic" are there in the Middle East? Can you learn one type and talk to everyone that speaks Arabic? Or are some Arabic languages very different then eachother???

  • for your first question "wikipedia/arab_world",

there is only one Arabic language! that is the standard modern Arabic. but each Arabic country has a dialect, if you speak with them in the standard Arabic they will understand you but the problem is, can you understand what they say? moreover, non of the dialects are written, so all the newspapers are in standard Arabic.

  • While we are learning about language, I just thought I'd tell you "non" is actually (none) =) So that's good, if I learn Arabic everyone can understand =)

  • Ooops sorry for that!

  • Don't be sorry lol You speak better English then I could ever dream of speaking Arabic... So don't even worrie about it xD LOL

  • thank you/ merci/gracias

  • ka ku ki and what about letter o?

  • it seems hard.....

  • May peace and blessings be with you. It's absolutely heart-warming to know that someone is willing to take their time and teach such a wonderful language, Arabic. If it's the will of Allah, I will someday be fluent. Years and years ago, in elementary school in Philly, we only had one courese called Islamic Studies for a short period. My old Islamic privat school is no longer the same but I still have those great memories and who can forget the strict discipline. How to spell thank you, Shukran?

  • you are welcome :)

  • Arabic is the best language in the world for me Cuz its very good and the language of the koran

  • I read your comment and thank you for posting such a beautiful one. Yes, Arabic is the language of the Holy Koran and if it's the will of Allah, some day, I along with everyone else will be fluent. You know something, with all the Muslim celebrity artist of today, what is the "FEAR" of incorporating Arabic in songs? Speaking Arabic is extremely arrythmic, with all the money these celebs have, are they afraid of loosing their status in "this" world than the hereafter? I wonder!

  • :( ..

  • Ok, so you learned some languages. What did you do with your skills? Learning new skills is useless if you don't actually apply yourself.

  • khatak 7elw

  • im learn arabic wid mah friend nd im from puerto rico they teach me in United States nd it is not dat hard, when you know dah alphabet u'll knw dah rest nd i speak more arabic than english lol becuz they always spoke 2 me in Arabic

  • Damn, it looks really hard and different. Did you have a lot of trouble first learning english? Im assuming arabic was your first language

  • I started learning English in school at a very young age. So I didn't find difficulties. Especially that Thundercats and Bionic six were my favorite cartoons when I was a kid :P

(PS: I learned a lot from TV)

  • thanks for taking to time to explain. Jazakallahkheer

  • This is great, I took arabic lessons in college, but it has been so long. I read the holy Qur'an sometimes and it is in latin letters. But looking at in in arabic writing makes an absolute difference.

Besides that, I speak turkish and this one above says " kalimah, while we say kelime in turkish, it helps a lot.

I just want to learn the language, a lot of art and science and poetry is related with it. Please continue to post more classes. It really helps, thank you.

  • @yarful

I don't know about the Fucking Desert, that's far away from where I live. I'm living in Oman, in the Arabian Desert, but we can find our own variety of fucking sand niggers here. They're probably different from the ones you're used to in the Fucking Desert, most notably by the absence of a white stripe on the feathers of the female. My Arab friend Ahmed and I often go to look at these fucking sand niggers, where he always amazes me with his interest and knowledge of my culture.

  • Hi Dirk,

Thanks for the recommendation, but without being at all judgemental, my fondness for camels isn't that liberal. Yes my computer is a bit old, but I wasn't actually given it; I bought it while I was living in Korea. My computer-programmer friend Mohammed is always making fun of it and says I can have his Apple computer. It's a tempting offer, but I don't want to take advantage of his generosity.

    Sherpa!

  • @yarful

Did you know that Jesus was the closest thing that you can find today with Arabs/other Semitic people? Cause your redneck ass probably calls him your Lord. You probably didn't know that, inbred white filth. You wish you were of Semitic lineage. Honkey. xD

  • Barakallahu feek brother thank u for sharing, I hope you could make video of numbers too In sha Allah. Your video is helpful.

  • Thanks for you contribution, it's Great!

  • hey man, thanx. i learn arabic, but only got 3 lessons for now. Wanna hear and watch more!

    Shukran :D

  • That is great, thank you and I like the speed you take, it is just good enough to learn it. I took some Arabic for a whole term, one hour every week and this is a good complement to that.

  • Shukran for all you do!!!!!=))))))

That's really useful for whose who studies the arabic language!

  • When you learn an additional language;and speak it fluently, you enhance your mind and spirit. You become enriched and develop added perspective. It is frequent, in Europe for ex., that you run into ppl. that speak at least 2 and upto 5. You can communicate w/more ppl. I made a living off of it for many years. But in the USA its frowned upon rather than admired in most circles. Its an ethnocentric environ. but the military and other instit. pay handsomely for fluently bi-lingual ppl.

    peace

  • As Salamu Alaikum how are u doing brother, may allah(swt) reward u cuz u just taught me sumting, and now i can teach it as well, keep doin the videos inshallah

  • i know french, spanish, and english. and i would like to learn arabic and chinese

  • they say there are no stupid questions...but in this case its hard not to judge lol....why does anyone learn a language - to communicate with others in their native tongue, to learn to read writings, and or possibly to better themselves with the wealth that knowledge brings...just a thought lol
