I owned my iPhone 2g for 5 FREAKING YEARS (It still lives!!) and still is in many ways better then my android.

I love how all these android sheep think they are elite by dissing the iPhone.

5 years later and still nothing touches the iPhone for ease of use, apps, and touch interface. Samsung phones come close.

I still use my iPhone 3GS while 3 EVOs I know have had problems. And they all suck down a battery in about 3/4 of a day. The 3GS lasts the whole day.

@AshtonPhoto Just so you know, I own a small software business and did not bother to use iCrap for most of it because it does not provide any advantage to justify the additional costs. I have provided a Macintosh and iPhones for iOS developer but they are just used for clients that ask for iOS apps bundled with the projects. About comparison, as a Computer Engineer, I did mine too. I know what Apple users compare, they just compare the buzz created by well paid media partners.

You're right, it was probably more than 5 years ahead. If Apple hadn't introduced the iphone, there's a high probability we still would not have even begun using advanced multitouch touchscreen interfaces, having full web browsers, full fledged OS, etc.

We'd be using Motorola Treo 5 and archaic Blackberries. Like it or not, the iphone leaped our phone evolution ahead at least 5 years....quite possibly more...RIM and MS were certainly not going to do it!

Android will crush iPhone just like Microsoft crushed Apple.

It's not because it's better, but because you're stuck with using only the hardware Apple wants to give you, and Apple is too restrictive on allowing programs to run on the system. Android has no restrictions.

Plus, Android is cheaper and there are far more options for hardware. Android phones already outsell iPhone.

microsoft crushed apple because of affordability and appeal. apple is currently crushing microsoft. im switching to mac. As far as android goes. i had a droid x. from july 16, 2010 the day it came out, then got a droid 3 on july 21, 2011. one week later, july 28 i bought an iphone. androids approach is right, but it's incredibly fragmented and buggy, and continually updating. it's a mess really. and this is coming from a person who was anti iphone literally a month ago.

Google is stones throw from them on Charleston avenue.

Oh bullshit. I have an HTC Aria, it's standby is about 2 days. Multitasking isn't more power intensive, nor is it slower, that's Apple's old excuse as to why they were the LAST COMPANY on the PLANET to get pre-emptive multi-tasking working on their computer OS. Even Microsoft beat them.

tha's the thing. you have a midget budget phone with a 3" screen and a 700mhz processor. it better have damn good stand by. my droid x with a 4.3" high rez screen and a 1ghz processor lasted about 5hours with regular use. any phone has good standby. the droid 3 i had for a week wasn't much better. and the best thing is minus a few aesthetic changes, my brand new droid 3 and your outd
