  • What a geek. ...and I'd be acting the exact same way. Very cool man.

  • COOLEST DAD EVER.

  • ARE THE BRAKES IN THE REAR OR THE FRONT? I HAVE A GOPED GO QUAD THE GAS ONES AND THE BRAKES ARE IN THE BACK SO I DONT THINK I CAN DRIFT BECAUSE THEY COUNTER EACH OTHER THE MOTOR AND THE BRAKES. THANK YOU THIS WAS GREAT IM REALLY PROUD OF WHAT YOU ACCOMPLISHED REALLY GOOD JOB!

  • hey man can you help me? i got a small mini drill press i got from work and a I modifed pocket bike frame to be the size of a mini bike frame and i want to know if i have to use an inverter to get more amps and stuff out of a car batterie i want to run it off. but i only want to use one batterie

  • What's the top speed coming off a level surface?

I saw that you got a little over 62 MPH coming off a hill.

Is it still running....or did you eventually cook the batteries?

    Crazy ride man....wish I were there :)

  • does it run longer with 6 batteries?

or will 4 batteries go as far?

  • @b0bsaget007 depends how fast your going, think of a gas engine, the more throttle you give it the faster you go.but on another bike the less throttle you give it the longer you can go. with a smaller gas tank of running wide open on the first bike.

  • Now THIS is my idea of a go-kart! Your brilliant engineering skills plus your crazy-cool character (I have 2:14 in my mind ;D) reminds me of an evil mad scientist! Keep up the awesome work!

  • You hit that bump so hard you hurt the person behind the camera!

  • were did you get that motor

  • i'd like to see a dog chase after him

  • Hahaha nice man i want 1 to :)

  • wow dude thats kickin hard

  • very awesome man.....how much do you think you spent total on the whole thing?

  • awesome but whats the trailor hitch for??

  • Both karts are able to tow the trailer I got for moving them around. I can do "hay rides" .

  • LOL! "HEY GET OUT OF THE WAY MAN!"

  • cool

  • fahrtechnik wie ein pavian aber der kackstuhl kommt gut quer.

  • haha the first 45 seconds make this guy look pretty toolish

  • Dang, this is awesome. I wish I knew this guy in person.

  • PWMs are common nowadays, but it's not practical to drive something as big as a go-kart with a resistive throttle or, worse, a on-off switch.

MAKE SURE TO GET A PWM MOTOR CONTROLLER.

I hear you can get motors from golf cart supply places... check around online, maybe send a private message to the owner of this video.

  • The motor and controller are indeed designed for things like golf carts and forklifts. It is a PWM controller controlled by a resistive throttle. The throttle merely tells the controller what duty cycle it should put out based on throttle position. This kart is putting a bit over 20kW into the motor. Reversing is done using a relay - the relay reverses the polarity of the motor field with respect to the armature.

  • WOW!nice after job!

from italy you all my envy!

  • Amazing kart and great drifting!

  • Hey, Im looking to do a similar project, but could you give me some engine tips? (would it need a clutch? what sorts of engine would be appropriate... etc)

  • Glad you asked.

No, electric drivetrains do NOT need a clutch. You can add one, but the motors usually coast well enough that a clutch is simply not necessary.

I think this one has about a 350 watt motor.

The most important part is probably the motor controller.

Older controllers might be resistive, but they suck and are very hard on the battery, since they basically burn off any energy you aren't sending to the motor.

Get a Pulse-Width-Modulated electronic controller... to be continued.

  • how did u get it to reverse??

  • man! that's dope!

  • this is very good drifting!

  • jajaa.. very very nice.. and you are a good drift driver. good job!

  • Nice. I'm also building a go kart, thank you for giving me the idea!

  • I like how at 1:36 your wife is just standing there wondering when you'll be in to finish the chores...

    You'd be my favorite neighbor.

  • If you pause right at 1:12 you can see blue sparks coming from the wheels.

  • Jak bym miał takiego sąsiada... to bym go z wiatrówki ściągnął...

  • im pretty sure he speaks English

  • Ale gokarcik ładny:) Podoba mi się;] Sam może się pokusze kiedyś na takiego:D Pozdrawiam.

  • That is one sweet looking ride. Have you ever thought of selling a how-to guide on its design and build?

  • i dont think its the best idea to be riding an eletric go-kart in water lol

  • Sorry. It's a MIG welder, and MIG welders are typically spec'd for the output current they can make. In my case, my welder can put out 135 amps. Clarke is a low end brand, Miller (and Hobart by extension) is a well established brand. Mig welders are the equivalent of the "hot melt glue gun" of metal work. A 135A machine is not a very big one, so I can't build bridges or railroads, but they're cheap, and they run on 110V power.

  • Watching your videos, this makes me wanna get one :)

  • hey is was wondering what kind of weld machine do you have.

  • I used to use a 135A Clarke, but it died. I replaced it with a 135A Hobart, which is now part of Miller. It's a great machine.

  • Mario cart 13

  • I just recently did a total repaint of my electric go kart. It's looking like it was when I first got the frame. I've had people even offer to buy my go kart until I mentioned how much I want for it, lol. Anyways, nice drift of your electric one.
