(Including the tribes) At the time, this was an ACCURATE representation of black culture.

i'm 49 years old and i've never seen most of these insensiitive cartoons.i have a five year old granddaughter and i recently bought her a complete set of droopy cartoons on dvd,uncut.she loves them,even though they show a lot of these type of images.of course she doesnt understand any of them.children have to be taught racism.

Considering how vile and racist most modern African American comedians are towards other races I don't think anyone in general has any right to complain anymore. I am in no way saying that I condone what was put into these cartoons because some of them are just horrific, but at the same time there other problems today that we need to work on as well.
The seven second scene that starts at 1:40 was not meant to be in the final edit. It was used as a "marker" for several shorter shots and was accidentally left in.
I'm am working on a newer version, to help clean-up several editing errors.

West Africa had the Songhai Empire. They built many buildings, roads, even water systems, and had medical treatment.
Back then, many white folks came to Africa (before the slave trade), and came there only for opportunity.
Now, much of America depends on foreign products. Look at China! USA owes billions or trillions of dollars to China.

These clips are outright offensive today, but along with the Jim Crow stereotypes of blacks also came good stereotypes, especially out of the Jazz Age and the Harlem Renaissance. Blacks back in the 1920s wouldn't have taken offense to being labeled natural musicians, for example. This video presents both an abhorrent scene of blatant racism, as well as an important look into American cultural history.
