I downloaded pops (I have 5.00m33-6 before you ask) from the megaupload, but the folder doesn't contain anything called seplugins. Am I supposed to be renaming something and I missed that step? I don't use GEN. I wouldn't know how the recovery and all m33 features work on it. Also, none of my Popsloaders should be able to work with GEN. I stopped CFW a while back, so I'm not updated on GEN's PSX capabilities.
The only way you'll get that error is if the eboot is in the wrong format. Otherwise, you didn't do any of it right. I have yet to see someone say that they're getting this error unless they don't have popsloader or lack CFW. Make sure you get the correct popsloader for your version.
5.00 M33-3. I installed the popsloader from your thread seems to work fine, but I'm trying to get metal gear solid to work. I tried a couple different pops versions and can't seem to get the bastard to load. What am I doing wrong?
5.00 m33-6. got your popsloader. got your multi-disk eboot of metal gear solid. I tried 3.71 pops and 4.01 pops so far.... if just freezes when I try. the most success I've had is just not using the pops... but then the game still doesn't load all the way.
That shouldn't happen unless you have anything less than 5.00m33-6 as your version. A few people have told me that their popsloader freezes. The problem is fixed when they use the 5.00m33 popsloader. If your PSP is 5.00m33-6 then you need the 5.00m33 popsloader. If this still doesn't work, you're the first person that has not been able to run it in these ways.
Make sure the Popsloader is the only plugin enabled. If it continues to happen, back up your seplugins folder and apply the Popsloader alone. Then retry all the steps.
i put the seplugins in the root of my psp but when i try to hold R and turn on my psp at the same time,it automaticallys turn off what am i doin wrong?
my psp hangs after changing the POPS version. It runs smoothly if I run it from flash. I'm doing this to avoid a hanging issue with ff7 disc 2 where bugenhagen uses the key to the ancients. Btw, I'm using a 5.00 m33-6 and yes, the POPS menu shows up. Any help would be awesome!
It only does that if your using the wrong popsloader. My friend would complain that his popsloader would hang unless he chose to use the flash. Flash means that your using version 5.00(the PSP's current version) to run the PSX game. You might as well not even use popsloader if you understood what I said.

hi i have this really interesting thought, when i play psx games they don't work on my 5.00m33-6 and these psx file consist of 2 files eboot.pbp, keys.bin in a folder name, but what is really weird is that when i switch to 3.40 oe-a with timemachine they run properly?............. and some of these games have more than one cd and i seem to be having problems now switching to another disc as well in the 3.40 oe-a, thanks can you help me,,,,
3.40 oe-a isn't flooded with as much Sony security as the m33 firmwares which is why PSX games, for the most part, do not need popsloader on oe firmwares. This situation is not weird at all.
You can't switch disks unless they are multi-disk eboots. You need the eboot and keys.bin for both disks in order to play them both properly. You also need to switch the save info with a popstation so that the two eboots recognize each other.
Not exactly - the plugins folder will only replace any items with the same name. All items that are new will be added. This is why it's best to make a copy of your PSP's seplugins folder and replace it with the popsloader one.

Popsloader from flash will use your current version. If you have 3.90m33, your pops will count as 3.90. If you are using this option, technically, you don't need the plugin. The plugin is used to fake version, while allowing you to continue to use your original version. Using your flash is the last thing you should do if a game will not run without popsloader.
and when i start my psx game it wont show the version i got it only says from 3.00 to 4.01 then the last one says load from original flash i pick that and the psp crashes what can i do
You're not supposed to see your version. The popsloader lets you fake your version so that it runs better. 3.72 and 3.03 are your best bets. If it keeps freezing after trying all the pops numbers, try a new eboot.
Nothing serious--sometimes it won't work with other plugins. If it doesn't even when you enable/disable, try putting the popsloader items by themselves(rather than with all your plugins).

Get the Popsloader to work first. Put the popsloader files by themselves and enable the plugin by itself. After the popsloader works, slowly add your plugins one at a time in conjunction with the popsloader. It took me a few tries as well, especially on my friend's v1000 psp.
Delete config and you can always rename the pops. If you are trying to add multiple plugins on a single area(pops), add the next plugin under the previous one. You are not replacing pops.txt. Add line under like this:

If the recovery menu does not show, you lack custom firmware. You need this to do everything. If you really want to play FF7, just buy it at the PSstore, or buy a pandora battery/magic Mem Stick online.

Are you talking about save files or putting ISO/PSX on your psp. In any case, ISO/CSO goes inside the ISO folder(make it near the PSP folder area), PSX goes in the GAME folder.
I know I'm going to sound like a proper noob, but I've put the popsloader stuff where it should be etc. but where do I put the games? I downloaded FF8 that will work with popsloder, and the folder has 4 zip files, one for each disc, and when I unzip them there's another folder that has an EBOOT file in it, is that the file I need to put in or do I put the zip in or the folder with all 4 zips? And where do I put them, I've tried in the ISO folder, but they never show up, popsloader is enabled...
First off, popsloader is a plugin, it will not prevent games from showing up on the memory stick. All PSX games go inside the game folder as such: PSP/GAME/Name of game(FF8)/Eboot.pbp. Sounds you downloaded a Multi-Disk Eboot.
As mentioned above, make a folder titled Final Fantasy VIII, or however you wish to title it, and put the eboot in it. Then drag the entire thing into GAME. Don't forget to hold R when you select the game and make sure the popsloader is the correct version.
I had been doing all of that, but I downloaded your version instead of the one I already had, turns out the first one I got was just screwed up, hehe. Thank you for the help, it's working now...

oh i got it to work with gen-A. these two are custom firmware loaders/enablers that run of of chickHEN R2 on the psp 3k. They give you plugins ability and pops ability.

Upgrade to either 3.90m33, 4.01m33, or 5.00m33. The popsloader works perfect on 3.90m33. Other plugins could be the cause; try backing up your seplugins folder and applying the popsloader by itself. This fixed alot of people's pops with the same issue.

No, nothing works on PSP 3000 aside from everything from the store. Order a PSN card from playasia so you can download PS1 titles like FF7 for only 20$. I happen to have Rayman 2 and Twisted Metal 2 on my 3000 from the US store.

Try backing up your current seplugins folder and re-applying mine. I'm pretty sure other plugins are getting in the way. Also, try writing the line for the pops.txt like this-

Yeah, other plugins tend to stop the popsloader from running. Now that it works, try adding the cxmb back. If it stops the popsloader again, at least you tried. I have flashed all my themes since the OE era, so cxmb isn't really a big loss for me.

I have firmware 4.01m33-2 and whenever i try to play my psx games i can see the icon on my xmb but when i press x to play it it freezes and jus shows an image of my background. do u know why its doing that?
hey johnathan. nice to meet you my names henry. well all i want to get to work is my lunar 2 eternal blue multi disc eboot that i just finally downloaded and took me about a year. well i have a firmware version 3.71 m33-3 and from the website it told me i needed a 3.71 m33-3 or 4 in order to get the game working with a poploader 3.70 or higher so far i have got poploader 3.00 -3.70 to work but i need to know how to get 3.80 on it? any ideas? do i need to upgrade or what?
Why is popsloader not in my recovery menu? I saved seplugin on my memory stick, and I even added the pops.txt file with the link inside, but when I go to the plugins window in recovery, there is no popsloader!

5.00m33-3 has a lot of PSX bugs. Grab the 5.00m33-6 update from the info. If it still doesn't work, download cheska's perfect MGS multi-eboot.

Well, the popsloader is probably best used when using a multi-disk eboot. Try cheska's 3-disk FF7 if you aren't using it already.

What types of PSP's do both of you have? v1000, 2000, or 3000? Try this-
1.Backup your PSP's seplugins folder on your PC.
2.Apply the Popsloader seplugins by itself.
3.Try it.

Try 3.72 and 3.03. Just try all the pops numbers until one works. If you dont have any luck, try the popsloader on a different psp version.

Popsloader from flash will use your current version. If you have 3.90m33, your pops will count as 3.90. If you are using this option, technically, you don't need the plugin. The plugin is used to fake version, while allowing you to continue to use your original version. Using your flash is the last thing you should do if a game will not run without popsloader.

You're not supposed to see your version. The popsloader lets you fake your version so that it runs better. 3.72 and 3.03 are your best bets. If it keeps freezing after trying all the pops numbers, try a new eboot.

I cant stress this enough. Put the popsloader by itself and try it. Back up all your plugins and try the the popsloader plugin lone.

Nothing serious--sometimes it won't work with other plugins. If it doesn't even when you enable/disable, try putting the popsloader items by themselves(rather than with all your plugins).

Backup your current seplugins folder and put the popsloader by itself. Then add you other plugins one by one.

Get the Popsloader to work first. Put the popsloader files by themselves and enable the plugin by itself. After the popsloader works, slowly add your plugins one at a time in conjunction with the popsloader. It took me a few tries as well, especially on my friend's v1000 psp.

Delete config and you can always rename the pops. If you are trying to add multiple plugins on a single area(pops), add the next plugin under the previous one. You are not replacing pops.txt. Add line under like this:
ms0/seplguins/popsloader.prx
ms0/seplugins/screenshot.prx

OK, question. I installed a Popsloader easy installer 5.00 m33- on my 5.00 M33-6 Pops (it has every version of Pops like this, it may be the same, I don't know)...I put it in the seplugins folder. I boot up with recovery, and check plugins and it's not there. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I've asked this elsewhere and no one knows. Please help. Thanks.

after i put seplugins in my psp memory root i turned it off and before turning it on i pressed R button but there's no recovery menu where i can enable my pops...what seems to be the problem?please help...

If the recovery menu does not show, you lack custom firmware. You need this to do everything. If you really want to play FF7, just buy it at the PSstore, or buy a pandora battery/magic Mem Stick online.

Are you talking about save files or putting ISO/PSX on your psp. In any case, ISO/CSO goes inside the ISO folder(make it near the PSP folder area), PSX goes in the GAME folder.

I know I'm going to sound like a proper noob, but I've put the popsloader stuff where it should be etc. but where do I put the games? I downloaded FF8 that will work with popsloder, and the folder has 4 zip files, one for each disc, and when I unzip them there's another folder that has an EBOOT file in it, is that the file I need to put in or do I put the zip in or the folder with all 4 zips? And where do I put them, I've tried in the ISO folder, but they never show up, popsloader is enabled...

First off, popsloader is a plugin, it will not prevent games from showing up on the memory stick. All PSX games go inside the game folder as such: PSP/GAME/Name of game(FF8)/Eboot.pbp. Sounds you downloaded a Multi-Disk Eboot.
As mentioned above, make a folder titled Final Fantasy VIII, or however you wish to title it, and put the eboot in it. Then drag the entire thing into GAME. Don't forget to hold R when you select the game and make sure the popsloader is the correct version.

Same as you do with PSP games. Gamefaqs has alot of FF7 gamesaves. Or you can get the one in the video, I'm saved at the bottom of the north crater.

oh i got it to work with gen-A. these two are custom firmware loaders/enablers that run of of chickHEN R2 on the psp 3k. They give you plugins ability and pops ability.

Upgrade to either 3.90m33, 4.01m33, or 5.00m33. The popsloader works perfect on 3.90m33. Other plugins could be the cause; try backing up your seplugins folder and applying the popsloader by itself. This fixed alot of people's pops with the same issue.

The option will only appear if you are using a multi-disk eboot- single disk titles wont count. Grab a 4 disk ff9 from cheska- check video info.

No, nothing works on PSP 3000 aside from everything from the store. Order a PSN card from playasia so you can download PS1 titles like FF7 for only 20$. I happen to have Rayman 2 and Twisted Metal 2 on my 3000 from the US store.

Hey man your video seems pretty cut and dry, however when I go to my plugins on the recovery menu, the popsloader is not there!?

Try backing up your current seplugins folder and re-applying mine. I'm pretty sure other plugins are getting in the way. Also, try writing the line for the pops.txt like this-
ms0/seplugins/popsloader.prx 1

Yeah, other plugins tend to stop the popsloader from running. Now that it works, try adding the cxmb back. If it stops the popsloader again, at least you tried. I have flashed all my themes since the OE era, so cxmb isn't really a big loss for me.

im kidding bro.....if you want ill help you out i just got my multi disc eboot to work easily. heres something no webiste will ever tell you. you need two things one. get custom version 3.80 m33-5. (cause it works perfect with all multi eboots) and second download the eboot from someone who made the multi disc eboot. and bahm!!!!!!!! your done ^_^. trust me im so pist off on how the other websites will nevr help you. trust me

I have firmware 4.01m33-2 and whenever i try to play my psx games i can see the icon on my xmb but when i press x to play it it freezes and jus shows an image of my background. do u know why its doing that?

hey johnathan. nice to meet you my names henry. well all i want to get to work is my lunar 2 eternal blue multi disc eboot that i just finally downloaded and took me about a year. well i have a firmware version 3.71 m33-3 and from the website it told me i needed a 3.71 m33-3 or 4 in order to get the game working with a poploader 3.70 or higher so far i have got poploader 3.00 -3.70 to work but i need to know how to get 3.80 on it? any ideas? do i need to upgrade or what?
