Well basically we, don't like US bases in Korea because one, it reminds us of the fact that We are dependent on the US(though prideful it may sound) and Koreans in general havent gotten along with the US bc their intervention divided us. I mean how would u feel if ur country was a puppet in a proxy war(am I sayingthat right?) and the ones who controlled ur country is still based in ur home soil.

Which brings me to my 2nd point, Korea is a really peaceful country and we don't really h

  • the music is sort of ridiculous

  • Who in their right mind would want us to leave when there is a country that wants to kill you right next door that has one of the largest armies in the world and nuclear weapons. when shit hits the fan they will be so nice to us and beg us to open more bases.

  • What exactly are the attitudes of Koreans against the US military presence there? I often hear that they wish for the Americans to leave... yet I was surprised when I met a young korean college student who was grateful for, what her view was, "continued support for the true democratic and free Korea, against the oppressive North". Thoughts on the matter?

    Cheers from London.

  • @chica476 yeah its strange ive met some koreans who feel the same way But i guess they don't dare speak their mind in Korea. seems strange, & Stupid that

Every time NK does something Dumb younger student Never protest.

its usually Older people 50 & older who protest Against the North.

IF we leave sk, NK will have More confidence in defeating the south.

    & cause more Trouble.

  • That is one very happy country!

The Right wing ones are the very small and crazy ones where they protest by stabbing with samurai swords in the stomach, use dead animals, show their underwear.

  • Koreans value the right to demonstrate because it's a reminder to the gov't that they will be accountable, and that the people have the power. This is one way of making sure the livelihood of all Koreans is kept in the best interest. Aja aja aja!

    I ♥ Asia.

  • Burning the flag is way more peaceful than killing millions of people and not being sorry for it.

  • The Kwangju Mingjung uprising in 1980 was very inspirational....

  • I think the protest would be more highly valued if it's for human rights. I do understand that people are seeking after justice which is good, but there are some protests that I find it futile.

  • Indeed you guys are fucking idiots. Protesting is healthy for the country because it reminds the government that people owns the country. Which means koreans still got guts to come out and say what they want. We are not doing shit here in US. Obama's cap and trade tax bill will bankrupt the middle class. We don't need our troops in korea or japan for that matter. We need our troops back home. Oh forgot to mention that we can't protest in US now isn't it? I want our constitution back.

  • People who don't even graduate from university/college disgust me when they give their own defintion of "democracy" and "constitution."

  • @Berserk74 Typical teabagger

  • korea is the best :) !!!

  • These young people of Korea would have welcomed the 'American Imports' of hundreds of thousands of G.I'.s to save their asses, you think ? Protests ? If that's what they do with their time, give them a damn island to go there and yell and scream all they want. But hopefull they'll take in their 'opening ceremonies ' to remember the 'American Imports' at Inchon...

  • Dumb Violent animals

North korea threatens them with NUCLEAR

weapons, but i guess thats OK

  • cuz you are not korean. :)

  • i dont get it, in the beginning, south koreans are protesting about north korea in south korea? What's that going to do?

  • i dunno, it just wants to say that korea has a lot of protest.

  • Japan didn't even say sorry. Well they said sorry but refused to compensate for some victims and right after they apologized some officials went to a memorial dedicated to Imperialistic Japanese Soldiers. Besides Korea didn't even hate Japan before they took over.

  • yes they did. Japan and Korea have been fighting forever. We dominated them until Japan modernized itself with the help of US. Then in 1885 i think they began attacking and in 1910 they took over. Fucking bastards.

  • they are not south korean actually. :)

most of them are north korean.

yeah right, their citizenship is south korea.

    but they support north korea.

    i mean pro-north korea. and anti-USA.

but, few of them do. not everyone.

    fuckin reds !!!!!

  • I read in a newspaper here once that if war were to come abt w/ North Korea, our Troops there are expendable, otherwise they could be considered sacrifices. As a former Military brat, now a Military spouse and mother of a Soldier that is unacceptable to me, but that is our Government's view! With all the protesting, why are we even there?

  • We are in Korea to provide support for our Allies. Im glad Im here. Older Koreans really support us here because they know the hardships it took to get where they are today. The yoounger generation are the ones that are clueless about there struggle.

  • I'm kinda pissed at the younger generation of koreans. I think they're becoming too liberal.

I mean it's ok to be open minded but they're losing their koreaness. I just hope SK doesn't become liberal, last time that happened, some things went missing in the National treasury and ended up in Kim Jung Il's pocket.

  • Yes, i am Korean American and i agree with you. I have the view of the older Korean generation and the American view of what took place there. I'm grateful that my country the United States is taking care of my "origin" country. Fuck the young Koreans, they're just ignorant and don't understand. So fucking blind. Thank you for support and help deck, your work and commitment is much appreciated.

  • true but im still young and i still believe how we should govern korea as 1 country and beat the sht ouf of those fucking chinese and japs.

  • @koreathreekingdoms It will be difficult to prove whether you're actually Korean and are entitled to that responsibility of speaking on our behalf, but personally, after reading your remark, refrain from doing so. There are those who pretend to be Korean or whatever other ethnicity and come online solely to spew enmity and incite hatred in order to create more divisions. And so your comment about our neighbours/friends is not encouraged nor supported. Aja aja aja! I ♥ Asia.

  • @koreathreekingdoms Way to break the korean stereotype of being angry fucktards

  • @deck2233

Not clueless, more like more aware. The younger generation realize that the position Korea is in now is much better than during the Korean War era. We also are more informed and aware of what sorts of agenda the US gov't is presently pursuing and some agendas we do not agree with. Korea will always want to be independent, not rely on outside intervention(s) to dictate its own destiny. It was precisely because of interventions that Korea is technically divided nowadays.

  • @deck2233 ...it seems unlikely that North Korea could truly threaten the south. On paper the numbers don't look so good, but S Korea has three times as many people and several million reservists it could summon up. Not to mention the most modern weaponry today. it would be bloody, but eventually the South would prevail at repelling an invasion. We just really are not essential to victory for the South.

  • @Konform2zoidberg I hope china does not back N. Korea up

  • Holy cow they protest to everything. It must be tough to be a Policeman in Korea.

  • policemen in Korea don't get guns either :D

  • thank god some brave people over there are fighting against dog eating.

  • Such Passion!

  • if they don't like the u.s.a. i don't really care, we r here to stay ppl

  • Wow who knew they had so many protests there!

  • wow

  • Wow I knew there were quite a bit of protests in korea especially with u.s. relations but I never knew that they protested about other things that much and to those extremes always heard the protests were peaceful for the most part.

  • wow thats some crazy stuff, never even heard about these protests.

  • Wow! Really?? (sigh)...Thanks for keeping us informed. You did a great job working on this video Mike. Your complete description and clear labellings helped us know the real background of the matter. I appreciate also the pacing. Greatly done. Post more soon! Thanks for sharing... 5***** :)

  • Deck! You were there for the protest over us beef imports weren't you? Damn, very interesting vid 4 sure. Again, thank you !!
