I had never heard this before. It is a wonderful love song. The music and the lyrics are very appealing. I love that "...make you an offer you can't refuse, 'gonna put my finger on you." Thank you for sharing this with me. Thank you to the uploader also for this great post.
this time she was crazy about me....Cecilia is her name, time pass bye....we have two beautiful girls like her of course...and thank god, they are excelent at school like her mother. And her hair some times is long...some times shorter, but allways whit a great style and class.and natural blond.she is the most sexy thing in the universe and I love her, and for some many reasons, I know she does too.And this is is our song, althoug she refused the firs time.who I´m ? just the luckiest guy on earth
sorry about my inglish, I´m from uruguay south america. But you know wen you re a teen..you gonna die for anithing...year pass by...I was 32, she was 32, for some reason, this time...
i'm a pure metalhead and even i almost cry at this song, so much passion and power in this song... even the hardest metal ever cant beat this power and passion
The guy who composed this song, Johnny Worth, is an old friend of mine. I knew him for years before I realised he had composed my all time favorite song. He also composed most of Adam Faith's hits and a host of others. He's about 80 now and living in Durham.
One of my all time faves...although i didn't really appreciate the greatness of this song at the time it was released. It's only now i listen and think WOW!!
Essa música me traz boas lembranças-primeiro namorado e o início de faculdade ... esse ano faço 30 anos de formada e ao fechar os olhos , o tempo parece ter voado!
Thank you SO much - I've loved this song since I had it on a compilation album in the early 70s. Just beautiful. Perfect. I wish I could find it on MP3.

Hope fully Gonna release a best of john worth soul LP this Year with hits from Jimmy and the Majestic featuring Peter Clark or Clark Peters as he is now Known of "The WIre" Fame. I have this love song in my mind and in my heart.... every time I listen to it I return to my young days.... Cada vez que ouço esta canção me lembro dos meus bons tempos de adolescente...linda !
if it's any help i know i was 16 when this record came out because i had my moped and was waiting for my 17th birthday to have a 250 cc motorbike and i was born 29 may 1956 so could be late 72 or early 73 ?
This is fabulous but the sad thing is , I remember it when it first came out all those years ago ! It still sounds as wonderful as it did then though . Love it .
Simply gorgeous piece of 70s Brit soul (even though he's american by birth)
Does anyone remember Jimmy in a one off TV show in the mid/late 70s called "Demolition Guy" or similar about a guy who worked on a building site looking for love ??
@cjp0349 I actually have a copy of the LP that accompanied it (haven't played it for a long time, but I believe it was a film). Jimmy also sung the sound track to the movie Gold, starring Roger Moore, probably the best thing about it. I saw Jimmy live in 1973 - it was my hen night - he was incredible. Went back a couple of days later with my husband to be, Jimmy was ill and show was cancelled. We ended up going to a club, Spencer Davis was doing a gig alone on the dance floor, not bad, 2nd best
Ahh... takes me back to being 15 again.. just left school, the most perfect record, in everyway. This man's performance is faultless. I could cry when i here this, as all the nostalgic emotions come back. One of the greatest songs ever.
Amazed to see that nobody has highlighted the fact that Jimmy Helms went on to be lead singer for London Beat - check them out on youtube - he is still the biz!
Yes this what I call singing and good music. I remember this song when I was 13 years old back in the 70's and believe me when I tell you I still have my 45 record. This is a beautiful love song.

Thanks for the info Ampex196! I've loved every Les Van Dyke composition I've heard (I'm American). Perfect soul! This may be the most romantic, beautiful song ever written about forcing oneself on a woman (platonically or not).
