Dear Disney, please DON'T bring back the Hat Box Ghost. The original design team tried it, tried it again and tried it again. It had nothing to do with the technology being behind the team's vision. It had everything to do with their conclusion that the effect was unnecessary. The original design team ditched him for a reason. Keep it that way.

@appleAddict240872 Granted, but that's not the point. The WED team ditched it because they decided it wasn't necessary, not because they couldn't get it to work. They felt it was too much in an already cluttered attic, and that was back in 1969. Can you imagine even trying to put another show-effect into those attics today?

@tornadoe13 I do realise someone on YouTube got it to work. Again, that's totally irrelevant. The team ditched him because he didn't work thematically, not technically. They built the Mansion twice over again in Florida and Tokyo (meaning, if it was because of technical, they would have had time to get it right) and STILL didn't add the Hatbox Ghost. It didn't work thematically, so they ditched it. It has NOTHING to do with the technology and EVERYTHING to do with the flow of that show scene.

@tornadoe13 Secondly, with regards to popular support. Can you show me a survey with a wide sample that suggests broad support? The majority of pixie-dusters don't even know the damn thing ever existed. Are we just going, instead, by some forum comments? And anyway, since when has Disney ever given a fuck about what their customers wanted? 20,000 Leagues, Toad, Horizons, constant maintenance cut-backs, price-rises ahead of inflation... need I go on?

In the Fall 2010 issue of "Disney Twenty-three" there is an interview with X Atenico. When asked about his thoughts on the change to Pirates with the men chasing the women's food, and the later addition of Jack Sparrow he said;

"I liked adding Jack. The pirates chasing the gals... nobody asked me, but my reaction was this is Pirates of the Caribbean, not Boy Scouts of the Caribbean!"

This looks like it was a fun event. :-)
