  • nice video !

  • huge rudder deflection, sick.

  • I am a reall airline pilot.. go eat ur hearts out LOL

  • Even basic piloting skills state that when there is a crosswind component of less than that exceeding your craft, then you will be crabbing in the air and touching down with the downwind main gear side first then you straighten said craft with rudder to make the other main touch then the nose. Then jam on the friggin reverse thrust and or brakes lol......It aint rocket science !

  • Têtes brûlées ou sang froid ?

  • All pilots have to be proficient in crosswind landings.

  • Samahram

  • what is this song

  • return to innocence by enigma

  • @danjack17 Engima's Return to Innocence.. an all-time favourite

  • rudder

  • I don't get it, once the plane's back wheels are on the ground, how does it straighten itself on the runway?

  • The plane has still enough airspeed for using rudder in its tail fin.

  • so you do use the rudder to align the plane once landed. BEcause i thought that it just turns the nose gear.

Also, it just titls the nose without bending the wings.

  • The pedas can't turn the nosewheel if the nosewheel isn't on the ground yet. The rudder yaws the plane and most commerical airliners have a nosewheel switch to engage the rudder pedals to NG steering. Otherwise it's all rudder.

  • @denhou1974 yeah but even so, i dont understand how the plane turns when the nosewheel is in the air without tilting.

  • @airindia16

Forget about the nosewheel. In fact in some small planes you can't even control the nosewheel, it's just there for support. The rudder controls the 'turn' (actually called yaw). Think of how a boat turns. Same principle.

  • @denhou1974 , rudder and differential braking controls the yaw movement of the aircraft during landing, for taxi the pilot uses a small steering wheel.

  • @matatan69 Afraid not. Differential braking doesn't work if the wheels aren't on the ground yet. On rollout the plane will still usually have enough airspeed to use the rudder. I wouldn't try differential braking when the airspeed is too high - too much of a risk of ground loop. When the plane slows and airspeed is no longer effective then you can use nosewheel steering or differential braking (depending on the aircraft). I haven't been flying long but I do have about 300 landings in my logbook.

  • @denhou1974 I understand your point but I a work in aircraft maintenance (MD-80,MD-90,DC-930, Dash-8 ) and many pilts do apply differential braking if needed. on smaller aircraft not recomended though.

  • @matatan69 I may have digressed in my last post. The original poster was asking about crosswind landings and how to yaw the plane (on roundout), this is done before the plane touches the runway. You can only use rudder to yaw the plane at this point.

  • Diff braking!!>!>!>??

YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT A PILOT.

That may work *AFTER* said craft has touched down to earth, NOT when it is trying to. Stick to your ground job and keep dreaming you will fly one day!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MgpMontville I think you responded to the wrong post. I totally agree with you though.

  • the back wheel becomes drag pushing it behind the others letting the plane go stright, its very hard to do

  • wow

  • mix of rudder and engine thrust

  • Cradle4 has no appreciation for what it takes to be a pilot. These pilots truly have the "Right Stuff"! I think it is safe to say Cradle4 that most humans have the skills to walk and drive a car, but only a handful in the world could pull off a crosswind vectored landing which nearly shears off the landing gear. These pilots are truly gifted, but if you feel that a cabbie, or your ability to walk puts you in the same skill set, then enjoy yourself in fantasy land!

  • what is the name of this music?

  • Perfect music for some reason, excellent video. Gives me chills thinking of the intelligence, skill and courage in these pilots.

  • i agree

  • these pilots are heros and the song suits the vid

  • These guys are true heros I never seen such stuff in all my life...would make a news broadcast in my opinion. Big thumbs up!

  • And my baby does this for a living every single day. I couldn't be prouder. Thank your pilot the next time you're in the air. Thank him for bringing you home safe and sound.

  • ill make sure to thank my taxi driver, my bus driver, the guy who holds my door....OH and yea my feet for "bringing me home safe and sound"...

    -_- prideful bitch

  • If you had half an idea how much skill, focus, and devotion it takes to design, test, and operate machines, you wouldn't say that you ingnorant, illogical ass!

  • woops that was supposed to directed towards the dickwad known as cradle4

  • actually i'm very logical...as operating a taxi and the mechanisms of walking are considered machinery...and i've devoted 20 plus years of my life to walking...

which leads me to believe that you do not really know the context of the words "ignorant" or "illogical" which ironically only indicates your limitations of the language to simple emulations

  • Gives me tears in my eyes... maybe it's the music :)

  • maybe :) but if You up in to aviation, just look at 1:20 at 777 with full flaps - isn't beauty bird ? :D

@575727 - a bit of adrenaline at landing is something special :)

  • thats it im never flying agaian

  • a too esto.. el avión aterriza (en linea recta) a 240 km/h promedio. saludos

  • xD ! ! !

    ta entrete la tarea...

con suma de vectores pos cabros...

    salu2

  • Odio la Fisica...

  • no xD

  • Y?? alguien tiene idea de como hacer la tarea? xD

  • The name of the song is Return Innocence of Enigma

  • 1990, I'm a 3P flying a P3 Orion into Lajes, Portugal. The AC is Franz Federschmidt. Franz, if your out there man....I love you! The winds are 60 degrees off the nose at 38 gusting to 74. I'm crabbing so much that the radioman is looking out his porthole. The Air Force has tucked tail and diverted to Rota, Spain. We had babes waiting for us. We land, no blown tires, I never buy a drink that night and live to tell the tale. VXN-8...the World Travelers! Hey...livin the dream back then.

  • what is the name of the song?

  • what is the name of the song?

  • Omg that's scary mate..

  • you kidding me

  • this video almost made me shed my tears...

  • good god... they had one heck of a crab angle.. especially that last one.. the B-777.....
