No body likes war. But at time, it is the only choice. Even though become united and working together sound likes a good idea, we are far away from that possablite. America can't just stop participating in war. or else another problem like 911 happens. Peace and unity has to be that. together. not small countrys at a time. but a world together.
@Leoswhitelighter Let's say 9/11 was from a foreign government for sake of argument- you honestly think countries would do such things if USA didn't attempt to police the world? All they do is go around the world trying to enforce rules they break every second of the day...
Quote "well no shit sherlock whats you next clue? that is the exact reason for war, to stop maniacs from taking over and putting chains oround your neck!"
So.. a country with no army, or a strong economy to support a state of war is goint to "take over" a country with one of the largest and more advanced armies in the word, right?
oh wait, they`ve got nuclear weapons, right? well, then you go and blow the shit out a open city, killing one millon people in the process
yet they do have a choice. They choose do do that, anybody who has singed up in the last 8 years knew what they were getting into when they signed their life away. Yes they are dying and they should be mourned, but they should also be honored. I have friends and family in the military, dont blame the troops, dont even blame why they are there. Yes we need to get out of Iraq but not before the job is done, otherwise we leave it worse than when we got there.
if you support the troops you support the job they are doing. if the troops are not sucessful everything they have done and every one of them that has died in service will have been in vain! support the troops by supporting their mission, that is after all what it means to "support the troops!" "supporting the troops" does not mean giving them a high five! Get behind the home team for fucks sake!
@Dreadmore dude you cant say "if you support the troops you support the job they are doing." i do support the troops but i don't support the war that they are fighting. the war that just like Korea or Vietnam, we didn't need to get involved in we said were protecting a nation but we where protecting our oil supply. oil is not the world but it was to bush. now we are fighting a group of "radicals" who are just doing what their minds think their religion says for them to do.
Wrong! Please tell how you support the troops without supporting the job they are doing, go ahead! Do you think saying something nice about the troops is support? Supporting soldiers means you support the job they are doing, you want them to win and will do what you have to do in order to make that happen. maybe when you grow up a bit you'll realize that.
@Dreadmore i support the troops by donating to the proper charity. the "job" they are doing isn't the right job you need to grow down and learn that war is not needed EVER, so sir before you say war is needed and people need to die for what they have caused this about the fact that we are going to loose more than just human lives. we are going to loose our hope our morals.
you dont know the first thing about war. so les see, war has never solved anything except ending slavery (in the US) overthrowing Global Fascism (WW2), throwing back the islamic agression in the invasion of Europe (thank God for Jan Sobieskie), yeah, sweet cheecks "war has never ever been needed" grow a brain ya nitwit!
@Dreadmore well you remember when our troops were coming back from vietnam and were shuned for participating such a terrible war...? it is not there fault they were drafted they were told what to do it was not their faults but yet they were shunned at home. exactly whats happening now in afghan, in a way.. its not there fault its a weak war-minded leader that is to blame for the suffering of our troops so i say "support our troops to find a way home NOW"
I love their music, but the main reason i listen to The Flobots is because their one of the few bands with such a strong and moving message in their lyrics. And their videos are powerfull too.
i cant bring up any tears for american soldiers dying anywhere, because they are soldiers not trainees or civilians
they want to be there, its their risk
the angry point for me is why they are there
the lies of the bush administration got them there or their believe to do sth. for the u.s.a. which is besides the u.s. fact always the most stupid reason for everyone
just get ur soldiers back and save many lives from false ideals like bringing democracy to iraq
I totally agree with you but the reason no one has heard about their deaths specifically is probably cuz they didn't do anything to influence large amounts of people, i mean MJ was a Idol in America and around the world, and the people he influenced felt his death, the marines death on the other hand was felt by a small amount of people but i would think was more influential then MJ's

your rubbish in school, bed, life. Your just rubbish in general go play ur little COD 4 game because u dont have the balls to join the army. So just go play your game and keep your gay ass oppinion to ur self.
I don't understand why anyone has to hide their face to put up signs for an organization that plants trees and flowers...must be some hidden agenda I don't get?
I don't know what Emotional Toilet music is. I listen to a great variety of music but much of it shares a similar theme.
I find this type of stuff to be rather unpleasing to my ears. The video is also very disappointing. This is just typical American rock crap. In a few years it will be forgotten about. No big deal.
For the most part bands either create good music because they know what they're doing, or they simply don't. It's not about making a good song, it's about creating great albums and amazing collections of work that have a vision attached to them.
This band is just a little fun jam band that makes mention of a few of the social and cultural problems in America and that gets them a little 15 minutes of fame here and there. Their lyrics just repeat. "We rise together, we rise..." It's embarrassing.
Ok, I'll list some stuff I have in iTunes. Radiohead, Air, Andrew Bird, PJ Harvey, Animal Collective, Beatles, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Beck, Bon Iver, Dirty Three, Shostakovich, Fleet Foxes, Hendrix, Nick Drake, Pink Floyd, Portishead, Death Cab, Ray LaMontagne, RHCP, Ryan Adams, Sarah McLachlan, Sigur Ros, Sufjan Stevens, Elliot Smith, Amelie Soundtrack, Azure Ray, Bush, Janes Addiction, Crystal Method, David Garza, Depeche Mode, Feist, Flaming Lips, Brad Mehldau, and who knows what else.
That's all really nice music. I've got a lot of stuff too, that you have. But just try to be little more open, because everybody has a differnt taste. I am very open about music. The only thing for example I don't like is metal or real bad hip-hop...
this is a great group, theyre not rock, and the repeat of the verse has meaning, just because you cant see it, or refuse to see it or just dont believe what they believe, doesnt mean its not there, the group sings about how messed up the world is and how we treat eachother but how theres still hope "ride, together we rise" is obviously together, we can make ourselves better

This music has no intellectual dimension to it. It's just like all the other crap that gets played on the radio. Maybe their motives are constructive, but good intentions don't produce good music.
well how about instead of going to a song u dont like jsut to bash em u respect other peoples taste in music? I mean honestly why would even click on this vid if all ur gonna do is talk trash? theyre a great band who actually make me believe that the human race has a shred of hope left. the music is inspiring yet all u can do is sit here and judge, its pathetic really that u cant just apreciate what theyre doing but have to trash them
That is not true at all. I'm no FloBots fan boy because I just discovered them (I don't listen to mainstream radio) and their Handlebars song has incredibly intelligent lyrics loaded with meaning. Quite brilliant, in fact.
I like the message in this video. But I don't like their overall Socialist political overtones. Change is needed in this country, but that means going back to a free market system, not the transition to socialist democracy.
i love flobots! y'all are amazing i love all of ur songs. i finally got around to watching the video but ive listened 2 ur music 4 a while... love the music and the vids! keep it up u r a very inspirational group.
Flobots, you guys rock. They rock the house. I bought your Album guys, it's awesome, and as an activist fighting injustice in my home state of California, and most recently Prop 8, I wanted to say that anytime I get frustrated and feel like giving up, I listen to your songs and I'm replenished. They feed my soul. Thank you for your art.
Love it!

its asking wether or not your streets are safe, bins or bullet cases
xandrewxjonesx 2 years ago
yeah, if you listen to the next line he says
"Some laugh some salivate" he means there are some out there with a good life while others are starving.
the recycling bins/bullet cases build on that, referring once again to the contrast in different people's lives.
finally, with
"it's not equal, it's not fair
we're different people, but we're not scared"
he's tying it all in to the theme of the song, that no matter how different we are, together we can work together to make something better
