Whats up with youth groups and games these days? We should be preaching the word, not playing games. If the purpose of a youth group was to build relationships with each other then this would be ok. But the purpose of the youth group is supposed to be to streingthen the relaionship between the youth and GOD. So why the heck do we need these freakin' games?!
Getting them to build relationships with one another gives them a support system they will talk to about everything. Lets be honest the aren't going to tell us as leaders everything and we aren't with them in school struggling to stand strong in Christ when the rest of the world is trying to knock them down. If we are going to teach them God's word they must band together to keep from becoming discouraged by the world. My best friend is a brother in Christ and we lean on one another, same idea.
cause its a YOUTH group. just because we are at church does not mean we cant play games. i had so much fun with the group members with these games and it certainly brought us closer. it was just a way to bring us together in a fun way so we could prepare to learn how to build a relationship with God TOGETHER.
@udeadeyee No offense but Im going to assume you dont have a very successful youth group, thats IF you are even a youth pastor/worker. Proverbs 27:17 says "as iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another." It's all about relationships... with God and with each other.
@prestonhocker Yeah, my youth group sucks, and its because we spend all of our time palying games and no time teaching the Word.
I do agree that Iron sharpens iron (if the Bible says it, its true). But I want to ask you, did Jesus play games before he preached his messages? Did Paul? If they didn't then why should we? To get more kids to come? If you want kids to come start an outreach. If you want to help your current Christian kids grow, then start a youth group.
that is fucking retarded
