Master César Alejandro Carrillo doesn't need any change of note. His music lines are, almost, perfets..... In my opinion!!! please excuse if you don't think like me...... (And PLEASE!!!!! Excuse my BASIC english!!!!! JEJEJE
Excuse my english. Congratulatios for your work, but, please, review the score. Some notes are not like the original score. I sung that and make me noise. However, the "Color" from all of you is very good. I hope see you in concert someday. I'll go to Vancouver........ I hope.........
I WANT THIS PERFORMANCE ON MP3 OR ITUNES SOOO BAD. Such a pretty blend and great tone. Yeah, i think their should have been less movement but hell! its a really moving piece so...well...XD AWESOME WORK GUYS!
Okay. When MY high school choir class did this piece...it sounded horrific compared to this. Very few of us knew the piece and my section of second sapranos did not get ANY time with the teacher to work on our parts. She focused only on helping the first sapranoes and our class attempt at "bass". In other words...she ignored us and the altos and when we couldn't sing it correctly yelled at us. Anyways, sorry for the long decription. In other words, you guys sound AWESOME!!!!
I think the movement is natural, for the most part. I also think that the bigger guy on the left is more or less directing, as his movements are larger than the others. I think the movement does keep them together. Fellow with his hands behind his back has the most unnatural position. Doesn't quite allow for expansion of the diaphragm! Excellent sound and blend :)
I disagree with both of you guys. I'm glad they're moving and I think it can only beneficial. However, I don't think the fact that they're moving is attributing so much to their vocal production, but rather that it's helping them stay together and keep a good tempo. Obviously, there's no director - so they have to find a way to properly shape their phrases and keep time somehow. Seeing them move is not only refreshing, it's a good demonstration of experienced singers.
I've got to agree with Christine, little too much movement there. Singers shouldn't need to move around in order to have relaxed voices- that's basic choral technique. This piece isn't that low, the lowest note I heard was an Eb, such as in 1:18-1:20. Most true basses have at least a comfortable low D, some down to an A.
i'm glad to see them moving...moving around helps you relax some to get an unforced sound out of your voice...especially important for a small ensemble. the bass, i will agree, stands out a little. however, i have sung this before (i'm a bass) and the part is pretty low for most of it, so he was probably pushing a little to be heard...it is actually quite a hard song for the bass to blend in. luckily i was in a choir when i did it, so we were heard by numbers...but i LOVE this arrangement.
pretty impressive: tight harmonies, hard cadences, nice phrasing; although, i'm not fond of the bass, which sound fell out of ensemble blend. crescendos, which is ALWAYS hard to accomplish flawlessly in any choral setting, are ESPECIALLY hard in a chamber group since voices do tend to stick out and mess up the blend. This happened a couple times, but all and all, bravo. And thanks for giving chamber singing hope for quality and good taste. Good work.
God I love this song. It's so beautiful. but what's with that one girl on the left? she's not animated at all. anyway, The way they sing it is a little different than the way my choir sings it. whatevs....
Best interpretation I've heard here on youtube and I've watch a few of them!

Really nice sound, performance quirks aside.

moving around to a piece of music is a way of expressing yourself.
mind you if music were perfect, it wouldn't be music.
