Nice video tutorial. Anyone that wants to know about the on off switch you can put one on the power input or on the remote control it's self and it will turn off the amp. But the psu block has an existing on/off Switch witch will turn off and on any thing connected to it. Plus I don't think you should leave your PSU on all the time even if you put a switch to power off the amp. As the continuous current might damage your PSU. so just use the existing switch on the PSU!!!
@Ruinoz thanks for an answer, but the question is related to my car battery, not my psu. I have 2x100w amp but i don't have car stereo(i don't need it, because of phone mp3, laptop computer), so i need a switch or amp will dry my car battery. I tried putting the switch between PWR and RMT and it worked if anyone else have the same question.
Okay, i'm planning to use Sony Xplod 600 Watts Amp(XM-GTX6042) plus a 1000 Watts Xplod woofer in my home. Can somebody suggest how much rated PC SMPS should i use? and tell me how to hook them up pls.?
so you can just plug the rca straight into the amp im thinking about this to add a sub to my logitech Z623s with a headphone splitter will this work ( 3.5 come out of computer --> goes to splitter ---> sends one cable to z623s and one cable to rca---> into the amp)?
I would bring together several wires in order to avoid overloading the wires. Depending on the computer power supply, the currents can be present in two to four digit height!
For example, 4 yellow wires and 4 black wires. Yellow = positive, black = negative.
@TheDjHazza: If the power amplifier has a 25A fuse, you must not provide 25 amps.
My Silver Rave DS 9504 (4 x 50W RMS) has 2 x 20A fuses. I am pursuing it with a halogen 12V 200VA transformer at 16A. About one B40C35 bridge rectifier madeof metal and a few capacitors, my performance is always enough. I only have one Powerzone Series Noxx-kicker connected on a single channel. I hear the bass countless houses away, around the next corner and roads. Distance: about 150 to 200 meters.
emm..I don't think that one single yellow wire and one single black wire are enough, you should cut as many wires as you can, I'm using a 4 gauge wire for a single 500RMS. . .
the input power is AC and the output power is DC. a PSU function in this set up is to "convert" AC to DC in order to play your car amplifier without the use of a car battery. cheers
any blackwire from the motherboard. dont forget that one black wire should be connected with the green wire from the motherboard as well in order to turn on your psu.
@GSHWIZZLEDWIZZLE007: The remote terminal is a control input. He turns on the power amplifier. The remote connection requires only a few micro to milliamperes. It reaches a wire with a cross section of 0.75 mm2 or less.
also, the amperage of your amplifier must be greater than the amperage of your psu otherwise you will keep burning the fuses because of high output. if it still dosent work, then you must check out if you wired everything up correctly and if it still dosent work then maybe your amp is not working.
@Ruinoz okay thanks i got my amp on and workin, but how would i connect my sub to a home theater receiver or somethin? i plugged it in the comp. and i sounded like crap kinda
the wattage does matter. if you are using an amplifier and sub that requires high wattage, you will need a good psu. it all depends on you amplifier. from your amp, you will be able to set the output power
cgi.ebay.c0m/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270813414709&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en plzz tell me if this is a good psu for this ty! plz reply asap
If i connect my amp of 4500 watt to 600watt psu then it will run but not at its maximum...but it will run atleast better than small amps like 600 wat etc am i right...
you will need to know your amp's RMS power at 2 channel (in order to hook up one sub and one speaker). 4500 watt is way to high for a single PSU so maybe if you connect more than one PSU together to maximize your supplied power then you might reach 4500 watt. I recommand you to buy a weaker amplifier that gives around 600 watt RMS. Then you can buy any PSU around 600 watt on ebay
ANSWER PLZ!!!!!!!!!!!HOW MANY WATTS DOES THE PSU NEED
GymkhAnA251 1 day ago
@GymkhAnA251 It all depends on your amplifier and the power you want to bring out of your speakers and/or subwoofers.

@mrparadise212 it would be possible but i dont recommend you to do it. the quality will be weak and you wont have full sound capacity from your sub

Now I have a question, my amp is 1200 w, my subs are 900, about how big does my psu have to be, or as long as its not bigger than the amp?

i have 7 black wires do i have connect all of them
Londontuner 2 months ago
@Londontuner
One black wire should be attached to the green wire (both coming from the motherboard)
the other black wire going in the amplifier should come from the motherboard as well (one black wire)

@NCorrigan2014 yes you need working fuses.
also, the amperage of your amplifier must be greater than the amperage of your psu otherwise you will keep burning the fuses because of high output. if it still dosent work, then you must check out if you wired everything up correctly and if it still dosent work then maybe your amp is not working.

Yes your amplifier will power on but you will have to reduce the output level of the gain switch on your amplifer otherwise you might burn your psu.
Ruinoz 11 months ago
you will need to know your amp's RMS power at 2 channel (in order to hook up one sub and one speaker). 4500 watt is way to high for a single PSU so maybe if you connect more than one PSU together to maximize your supplied power then you might reach 4500 watt.
