I love Stallone movies. Most of his movies are about life knocking you down and having the guts to get back up and keep on fighting. "Over The Top" was a great example of that. Movies today are all special effects, bad acting and no plot. Long live the 80's!

This was made by the "CANNON FILM GROUP" who were famous for producing the Death Wish movies, with the exception of "Runaway Train" another CANNON film, this is actually pretty good. Being from the UK I actually watched this film in a CANNON cinema, as they owned most of the theatres/cinemas in England at the time.

One thing though, I always have a strong compulsion to want to punch that snot nosed bratt of a kid in this film!!

saw this in the 80's as a toddler one of my great memories, I got older a saw it in a rental store it wasn't for sale but I talked the cashier into selling it to me, he thought it was so old the owner would never miss it.
