The newest 27" iMac runs at $1000 more than my custom-built machine, and only has 8GB of RAM compared to my 12GB at a higher clock speed. It lacks my Quad-Core, 8-thread CPU. It lacks my SSD Drive. It's SATA drive is 1TB, rather than the 2TB i have in mine. That's the point. These aren't just gaming machines. I built my machine to be a rendering rig and workstation, for $1000 less than an inferior Mac.

I wish I could agree with you, but the Macbook Air has been proven to be one of the SLOWEST Mac computers in the world, not just the Mac line. A "super drive" is just a DVD Writer/Reader combo. Those cost $30, my friend. SSD drives? They're plentiful for the PC. If you are going to buy a Mac Pro for 12GB of RAM, then you're going to get substandard, slow RAM that can't clock nearly as high as the type from platinum-level companies like OCZ and Corsair. I'm very sorry.

My friend, Photoshop loads in 2-3 seconds on any computer equipped with an SSD drive. It has nothing to do with OSX or the Mac platform. I can load Adobe After Effects CS5 in 6 seconds on my rig, and that's a testament to SSD booting. Instead of angrily challenging me, just THINK about it for a moment. SSD transfer rates are phenomenal. OSX does absolutely nothing for those boot times. You MUST learn about hardware before you're going to see the truth of it.

I'm a PC and a Linux. And I think that 90% of computer users don't know shit about the objective pros and cons of Mac and PC. There are users for whom a Mac makes sense and users for whom a PC makes sense. It's not one or the other for everything and everyone. It depends on what you want to do with it. If you just want to browse the web and watch movies and maybe occasionally play a game than you can buy a fucking iPad and be happy with it. It always depends on what you want to do with it.

I'm a PC and a Linux. And I think that 90% of computer users don't know shit about the objective pros and cons of Mac and PC. There are users for whom a Mac makes sense and users for whom a PC makes sense. It's not one or the other for everything and everyone. It depends on what you want to do with it. If you just want to browse the web and watch movies and maybe occasionally play a game than you can buy a fucking iPad and be happy with it. It always depends on what you want to do with it.

Ok, they showed every one but who really have heavy job with computers, that is software engineers etc.
It is definitely more convenient to develop in a Unix-like environment.

I operate a windows pc and if it wasn't for all the software i am currently using, i'd ditch it in no time (also for becoming comfortable with it, I've been using it for the past 20 yrs)
I used to love Microsoft back in the day but it seems that now, whatever they touch turns into shit. (I'm ready to say bye to skype for that matter)
I'd definitely go for Linux if i was to start all over...
Once again, I am not sure anyone gives a damn, as somebody was pointing out, it's just a preference

its funny, we just replaced apple servers with windows servers recently. ha!
apple's ui concept is cool but other than that.. it's like saying.. i bought this nice hip mc mansion at the boonies, but your only utilities are the septic tank and the copper lines from 1800s.
