I met him at Uncle Billy's Day in Altavista last year and I thought he had no chance against Goode. I believed that if he stayed away the cultural issues. The national ticket of Obama and Mark Warner helped him out a lot.

I love TOM and would not DARE compare him to Palin!! She was just a cute face without a brain. We all know that. But he was going against another brainless idiot, Goode. I did what I could throughout the campaign to bring him down, and he didn't win. So I'm happy. I usually get what I want when I give it my all.... You ROCK TOM!! Keep up the good work!

You must be a brainless idiot to think that way about Goode. Virgil Goode was a man of character. Remember he was a Democrate and changed sides instead of being all yes sir, I agree with the Democratic Party.

No, this is a lie. Tom had a beard much like I have, (my anscestors were English and Dutch, not Arab). In the picture, Tom looked like any other white guy (we are not all tall, blond, and have blue eyes.Why is it a big deal for a Rep. Pres. or senator to have a beard? I am sure there's more whites with beards than any other race. I am from his district and lots of men, white, black, and Hispanic, (but guess what, we have very few Arabic or Middle Easterns around), down here have facial hair.

Sorry to keep bothering you but I just wanted to clear up this bogus lie about Virgil Goode trying to make Tom Perriello appear to be a Arabic man (which would be fine if true but this is a lie created by the Young Turks)

The photo that you'er talking about was published in the Lynchburg News and Advance and was released by Perriello's campaign in the early stage. No one in the Republican circles that I know in the 5th district ever said anything about him being of Mid Eastern orgin.

hey i looked it up. i saw the photo from Lynchburg news and yeah your right, he does have a beard. but he still looked Caucasian in the photo. in the campaign ad, everything was darkened and as a result he looked like an arab. im pretty sure that was intentional.

if it wasn't intentional, then why use such an old photo of him with a beard?

@Gilgamesh387 Virgil Goode used the old photo with the beard. Wanted to align Perriello with the sterotypical beleif that all Muslims are terrorist. Basicly another racist move from a racist man.
