  • This hotel is horrible. The first 2 minutes in the room we found a black thongs on the floor. There was no shower curtain, the outlet in the bath room did not have a cover. The heater was on all the time, and it was warm for us yet we had no way to adjust the temperture. We stayed there for a week, every day all the mate did was making the bed and providing the towels, most of the time the trash was still in the room when we got back on the evening. This place with a mate service every day yet

  • i loved this hotel :) maybe it was a faulty toilet?

  • I agree - i don't think consumers get angry when companies make mistakes - i think they get angry when they don't get an apology for the mistake. The words "I'm sorry" go a long way but companies are so afraid to admit guilt in any way, they just say nothing. Go figure. Hope you have a better experience at your next hotel.

  • The sad thing about this place is that it's in the best location ever. I didn't have high expectations for service - I just wanted to have a stay without negative incidents and this didn't happen. They ended up refunding me for the fraudulent charges but not until we spent two hours of time haggling with them. I also noticed that the hotel has a lot of apologies on yelp to unsatisfied customers. But after apologizing so many times, doesn't it occur to them to fix the problems?

  • @sellanis

I wish I had gotten an apology, but even if I had, I still would have posted this video on here because people should be made aware of this.

Not once did I receive an apology. Someone from the hotel or parent company never even bothered to reach out to me about this. Pretty bad if you ask me.

  • I'm stayig at this hotel as I'm writing this and it's a Hell hole. My roomate went to the business center and spent $10 - they made five fraudulent charges to her credit card for services she didn't buy, The elevators don't work - had to walk through a stinky stairwell with a dead cockroach in the middle of the floor which has been there now for two days. Called the front desk because of IT problems - they transferred us to an outsourced IT vendor and charged us for the long distance call.

  • @sellanis

It's unfortunate you had a bad experience. I know what it's like. I'll never stay or recommend this hotel to anyone.

  • But they did sort it out well and quickly and it was a very very good hotel :)

  • i stayed there too and my toilet overflowed!

  • I would have been upset too & so would all these people leaving comments telling u to get over it. I just read where someone told u to get a f-ing life u sad "c_ _ _" & actually got thumbs up?! That's what's pathetic...not ur video. I have to ask...what did it take for them to finally clean it up? Sometimes hotels get busy & u just have to stay on top of it & keep calling until they have no choice but address the problem. I hope the compensated you. : )

  • @dearchelle09

Sometimes I wonder if the people who are posting positive experiences or comments are paid to post them. I'm not saying they are, but I am just wondering.

I wasn't compensated, nor did I ask to be. Management/front desk didn't seem to care. The first night it happened I just chalked it up to a bad night, but when it happened 2 nights in a row (after midnight) I decided that enough was enough so I made the video to warn other travelers.

  • raw sewage, so what does he do put his foot in it and wipes it on the carpet and walks around wtf

  • @pwt10

If you were to view the video and give some thought before posting this then I'm sure you would have figured out that maintenance staff did the same thing.

  • I just checked out of this hotel and really have no complaints. I was a little nervous after watching this, but our room was clean and the staff was very nice and accommodating. The decor was a little too contemporary for my taste, but I'd gladly stay there again, esp with the rate we got.

  • What r u talking about? I stay at hotels six months out of the year. Happens everywhere dude. You switch rooms or it's free time! You never learned that?? You get a bad meal - take it back. WTF!!

  • For the prices they charge, they should be able to respond to a problem faster than that, and they should at least clean up the mess!

  • i recently stayed in this hotel and i have nothing but bad things to say about it. 1st the towels were dirty and the shower smelled like crap. the shower had mildew all over the walls with hair. the cups near the sink had white stuff in the bottom. The bed was so uncomfortable. The carpet was dirty and the walls were dirty plus the wall paper was comming off. The toilet seat was about to fall as well. they need to do some upgrades. i will never stay there again.

  • Exactly!!! they suck!!! i've been there about 5 months ago and most of the rooms were empty, but they gave us a room in the 3rd floor and the view totally suck!!! my uncle is a pilot and he was staying in other hotel , he used to stay in park central, he came with us and everybody's there were like HIII , hello.... when they knew that we know him they moved us into a better room in 23rd floor with a nice view!

  • this is one of the places i thought about staying when i went to nyc for my b-day in june glad i didn't stay there!

  • I stayed 5 days at the Park Central and had absolutly no complains. Everything was clean and I would stay there again!

  • raw sewage or water leak ??? get out of your room and go have some fun.

  • I've stayed here and it was fine. Stop complaining ... when you have 1200 rooms shit happens.

  • just back from a week there - great hotel,

location was perfect, room was very clean and the maid service was fantastic

some people just like to moan for the hell of it

  • I just had a quote drawn up for a holiday next year for about 15 of us (family) This was the hotel quoted for our stay in New York. Glad I seen this first as I will be getting another hotel suggestion.

  • I stayed at Park Central Hotel for six days this month and I wouldn't recommened it to anyone. Had problems checking in, and we were just left in the lobby being ignored until I went up and reminded them we were waiting. We were on floor six and the noise from a huge gang of teenagers was pretty shocking. Even after reporting this to reception two nights running, nothing was done about it. The kids were even knocking on our door in the night and then running away!! Definitely avoid this place!!

  • Oh....and our bedding wasn't changed once during our six day stay and we were disturbed by the fire alarm a few times in one day. Until they found the source of the problem we were told to stay in our room! Plus a ten minute wait for the elevator wasn't an unusual occurence.

  • I normally dont complain like this, but this was really so bad that it wasnt worth even $ 100,00 a night. Our holiday was ruined. We rescheduled our flight and went home two days earlier then planned. Be aware

  • In Park Central Hotel it was a dirty room with broken curtains, broken shower, only cold water available, room service with only cold and lousy food and staff that doesnt know the meaning of the words client friendly. On new years night we tried to go to the restaurant to eat a bit. The restaurant turned out to be full with people from outside the hotel. The hotel manager told me that everyone should know that you have to book for a restaurant and treaded me like someone stupid.

  • In my life I have stayed in a number of hotels, but never ever as bad as in the Park Central Hotel in New York. It wasnt just a little bit bad, it was crap! We (my wife an I) stayed there a few days round new years day. I paid $ 550,00 for what should be a luxury room, but turned out to be just a regular room. The room itself was not worth the price at all. For the amount I paid, I can stay in one of Europes finest hotel rooms.

  • I stayed here 2 nights in 2007 and again in 2008 because it had the most reasonable rates in the area I wanted. I had no complaints. I could even see a corner of Carnegie Hall from the window.

  • We stayed herel from 5th April 2009 for 7 nights. We found dirty underwear in draws and the room had not been cleaned properly.

There were approx. 50 kids in the corridor . They always put kids on floors 6 and 7 - avoid these two floors.

We were there with friends for their wedding or we would have moved out.

The rooms are basic, service is bad, travel lodge/ premier Inn standard costing £ 200 per night.

We would never stay at or suggest this hotel to our friends in future.

  • ya its a pretty bad hotel with bad service. i paid i think high end for a suite here. in my suite almost everything was broken, lamps, tv, shower etc. they replaced the tv but with shower and lamps the tech said they were aware. as it was new years eve they were full and couldnt change, then i got stuck in the lift for 3 hours with 6 other people on the 11th floor. i had enough and i checked out and i went to the London NYC. which is much much better.

  • I will be in NYC next week and I booked for this Hotel maybe like 4 weeks ago, cuz the prices were correct and the location near central park is good too. I didn't saw this video before. I now really hope this hotel isn't that bad. But I'm a bit affraid of. As I asked them via e-mail something I never get back an answer, even as I sent a second mail.

  • Hi. I stayed in this hotel but paying 700$ a night for a suite. its a pretty crap hotel and with pretty bad service and bad bad bad food. forget the breakfast as well as it has no taste except for fat! i now stay either at trump or the London NYC. The London however is really nice. enjoy your stay.

  • Okay I'm back now from the hotel park central and fortunately there was nothing bad there. I asked to have a room in the higher floors and they gave me one in the 18th (of 25).Of course the toilets could have been a little more clean in the inside but otherwise everything was okay. Finally it's a 3.5 and not a 5 stars hotel. Of course I wouldn't have stayed here if I had to pay 700$ per night, but I paid 143.40$ (without taxes) per night so this is okay.

  • we stayed here for 5 days 18th feb.. i had no problems whatsoever..we choose it for the location....found it ok...you must just ave been unlucky...

  • This is the worst hotel I EVER stayed in. They made me wait until 3 am before my room was ready.

  • Thanks for sharing. i was thinking of staying here on a New York visit as i had a positive experience in southbeach miami. Why didnt you ask your room to be changed or was the hotel fully booked? I am not sure i would be put off by a plumbing problem but i certainly would refuse to use that room.

  • Think this guy had bad luck. Chose this hotel at random cos I was fed up of searching and no one could advise me of a good place so was bit worried. No need, it was lovely. Always clean, beds were gorgeous, staff friendly and very helpful. I read that the place was dirty but I found it very nice. Location is perfect, minutes from times square and central park. Subway directly outside. I'd go back tomorrow no problem at all. And no I don't work for them. I live in Nottingham.

  • This is a great hotel....just bad luck for you.

  • Sometimes I wonder if the people who post positive experiences about this place are paid to post them by management especially since the holiday season is just around the corner. I strongly encourage people to do their own research and the first place I would start would be a simple search on the top search engine in the world who happens to own YouTube. There are also several travel or tripadvisor type of websites to read reviews on this an many hotels around the world.

  • i went here in aug 2006...it wasn't this bad! and the staff was so nice and friendly

  • i thought it was nice

  • me too

  • the smell in the lobby was the best thing about it. what do u reckon?

  • I don't quite remember the smell, I went there over a year ago. But I know the staff was very friendly and welcoming. In all, it was quite a pleasant experience - might go back again.

  • All the positive replies are from 3 weeks ago. Seems strange if you look at the history and dates of people who have posted comments. I think these positive comments are paid shills. I think these comments are from hotel staff or are paid by the hotel. Holiday season is just around the corner and with the downturn in the American economy it makes me wonder if this hotel is doing whatever it can to bring people in the door. A simple google search could become your next best friend.

    BEWARE!!!

  • i'm from Liverpool in England so i don't think there is any way of me working there. Furthermore, i went last easter. i think you were just unlucky

  • Im Staying Here in november at this hotel which i dont care what i wanna know is whats the view like from the hotel room?

  • it use to be so nice. i stayed there many times. over the past couple of years the price got way to high as the service & quality dropped way to low. great bartenders in the lobby bar , that's about it. wouldn't stay there again even though the location is great!

  • Get a fucking life you sad cunt ive stayed at park central and had a great time with no problems dont let this fool you every hotel has problems at some time if you are the unforyunate one who happens to be there at that specific time that is just bad luck and everyone gets bad luck

  • Hey - why don't you get some civility? There is no reason to pay over 300 bucks for a room and have to put with such abysmal service

  • thanks for the video. im coming to new york soon. any suggestions on a GOOD hotel without bed bugs or bad service?

  • That hotel is one of the expensive ones, god in the photos it looked wonderful, it looks the same as my cheaper hotel. Thank you for posting this, as I go New York often, and I was tempted to book this the last time I went.

  • I stayed at the Park Central last week and the A/C was not working in the whole hotel. But they didn't tell us when we checked in. It was miserable. Do not stay here. This was June 14th 2008 and it is "BAD" there.

  • why didn't you demand another room?

there is no excuse for stupidness.

  • stayed there on the concierge level 21st floor. didnt enjoy my stay. i paid 599$ a night. i got checked into a disabled room, even though the room was large and nice, service was bad, shower and drainage was broken, water every where. dirty sheets, didnt bother to clean. rude service. bad food. and got stuck on the 11th floor in a lift.

  • I know the feeling. Try having raw sewage from an overflowing toilet running into your bathroom on 2 occasions.

  • i see your point. and when you pay for that service you should get what you pay for. anyway thats my last stay at that hotel.

  • i see your point. and when you pay for that service you should get what you pay for. anyway thats my last stay at that hotel.

  • Wow, that is Disgusting! No offense, but if this isn't staged and is on the level then hopefully the management is aware of this video and will take steps to clean up their act. Seems like one would be better off at a HoJos or Comfort Inn than this flea trap.

  • I can assure you that this was not staged.

  • I understand. Is management now aware of this vid?

  • I'm not sure. I doubt they would care. They didn't seem to care when I complained on 2 occasions.

  • I stayed here in February and had no problems although only one of the lifts worked so you had to que in order to get your room, with it being such a big hotel i would have thourght they'd of concentrated on getting the rest fixed.. but other then that i enjoyed my stay here i guess you guys were just unlucky?

  • We were unlucky enough to stay here in Feb 2006. It is absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We had to wait for 6 hours until 3am in the morning to be checked into a filthy room. The staff are the laziest, rudest, most unhelpful people on the face of the planet.

  • who cares! I won a trip to NY on a web contest, i'm gonna leave in 2 days, i'll stay at this hotel, and so it's all wonderful!!

  • Hey CPFollower,

When you post a video can you also post both your official hotel receipt and the receipt/confirmation from Priceline because I doubt that it is possible to get a room within a 1/2 mile radius of Times Square for $119 a night.

I think you are a "shill" for Park Central Hotel.

  • asked to sum it up, its a fhucking shithole of a hotel and the dude on reception i think hes on crack.

  • Ow man, I wish I saw this before my trip here. I'm at the Park Central Hotel NY now, it is really terrible here. Whatever you do people, don't book at this hotel! I payed 550 dollar for a cheap looking, dirty an serviceless hotelroom. What a nightmare...

  • DUDE! I took the video at 12:45 a.m. on a Sunday. I spent the whole day touring the city and checking out a Broadway play; therefore, I didn't feel it was worth the hassle to move to another room. Also, it was in December on a weekend and the hotel was fully booked. I did go down and asked very politely to speak to the manager and was told that the night shift manager was unavailable. The lady I spoke to was very unfriendly so I decided to take a video to alert other travelers of my experience.

  • I am planning on going there Dec 23 2007 What room was that >? I want top floor so if sewer backs up bad I will be king of the castle NYC is MINE

  • Thank you for taking the time to post this video. I took pictures of this dump (which I will post to every review site that lets me), but I didn't think to take a video. BRAVO. You have saved people from an expensive mistake. (Our bathroom was coated in mold. And that was just the start of our problems.)

  • thank you for commenting Skinny!!! Yeah feel free to post back as to where your pictures are posted. I was actually contacted recently by a major U.S. media outlet who wanted to interview me for their tv show. I was all for it, but they never once contacted me back.

  • Good hotel good price and great location.

  • Uh, no it isn't. This video doesn't even come close to showing what a pigsty this place is. I just returned from a 4 night stay (10/10-10/14) at this dump and my revenge for having had to pay $500/night for this disgusting, mold encrusted piece of garbage hotel is hitting every review site with the truth.

  • i stayed at the park central and did'ent have a problem its location was great, that was in 2004,it's obviousley deteriated since then.

  • Thanks for this, I'm going to NY on the 6th of Sept.

  • i dont love that hotel becose um of die toylet thing and i have seen beter and also um i like clen hotels not dartey 1s man im so asamed so um im going to cry lol .

  • We stayed there March '06 and had a bad experience, too. So did my in-laws who stayed in another room.

  • U are so right, i was happy when you said "I should post this on youtube people should be aware"

Buddy u just saved me $600

  • Glad I was able to give you a "heads up" on this place and saved you some money.

  • damn...thanks for the heads up

  • No problem at all!!!

  • We stayed at Park Central in April 2006. My girlfrienfd had new clothes that she had brought stollen from our room. When we told the hotel they made us fill out a form. They then wrote us a letter to say that they would not do anything about the theft. My advise - Avoid this hotel!!!

  • That is a shame. I should post the toilet overflowing. This place is more than a dump. The staff are unprofessional. Think about it. Leaving soaking wet towels there like that is unacceptable. We arrived hotel after taking in The Lion King 7 hours after we called the front desk to report our toilet overflowing for the second night. I was absolutely livid to find our bathroom in that condition. TripAdvisor here I come!!

  • They offered me a $50.00 credit. I also have video of the toilet overflowing on Friday and Saturday night.

  • Nice review, I've featured you at YouTubeReviews com - di d they ever give you a refund of some type?

  • I reported above that they offered $50, but I was wrong. They offered to buy me and my fiance (now my wife) breakfast.
