I used to work for the Garage that used to supply the cars that were won on the show & I used to get to go to the show each time we had a car at a star prize, They were Great days I Spent at LWT in the early 80's How cool to see one of my cars that I took to the Show on You Tube :o)
@jaradoref The cars were on a SOR base's if won the bought them if not I picked up :o) as for the insurance that was sorted by the TV & the winners :o)
Remember, big cash was a big no-no in England. (And it's only fitting that we saw King Richard in that Disneyland clip. Also, Bruce Forsyth was in a Disney movie.)
Ive never seen this show in my life but managed to watch the whole thing. 7:09 I cant figure out if its an edit or just the switch of camera and angle
Although Thames was an excellent company, I was glad that they gave way to LWT on Friday evenings so that we got shows like this.
Watching Bruce at the end waving at the audience, walking to the back of the studio, wave one last time, and then disappear back to where he came in at the start, on the left, leaving behind a dimmed and empty studio and applause, still gives me the shivers down the spine over 25 years on. It gave such a magical feel for me when I watched it back then.
What''s the lion doing at 0:16 ?

Was there a "push" rule on PYCR?
(the push rule is that if the next card was a duplicate, i.e. a trey after the first card was also a trey, no money was won or lost).
Also, why didn't they bet it all on the deuces?

That's a really crappy car.

4:25 lol, that was so funny, especially Bruce's genuine reaction!

BL cars would have rusted by the time they won them.
dunamission 2 years ago
@R2tag How come you were allowed to release the cars without insurance? I thought it was illegal to do so, but I may be wrong.

Anybody know what the name of the theme tune was?
stormmine 2 years ago
I preferred the version between 1994 & 1999.

Given that they played squash as a hobby, I'm surprised that they didn't mention that amongst their eight ball games.
Pressure of tv possibly...
But yes, used to love this version of PYCR when I was little. Even though the 90s remake was welcomed, I didn't think it compared to the original.

Loved the "I bought British" sticker on the windscreen of the Mini on the end. Can hardly say that any more about any car, sadly.

Does anyone know who produced the music for this show?
GottaBePaxton 3 years ago
Yes, this was because of the rules on TV shows back then... They could not give away money hence they used points.

You're thinking of ice hockey, normal hockey is played with a ball.
