I wonder what it would be like having a prominent youtube libertarian as a father... my dad says he's a libertarian, but he's really not. I mean, he's all for antitrust laws and US intervention abroad, and he's convinced that Ron Paul is an idiot. e.e
hi, i didn't have corn syrup, so i used golden syrup, which is very gloopy, and the bubbles didnt form at all - it popped immediatly, can you help me?
@knockoutresponses I don't know enough about golden syrup to say; maybe it won't work. If it will, it's all about getting the proportions right. Maybe you need more of the syrup, or maybe you need more detergent.
Thanks for the video. More folks should get into home-brewing bubble solutions. Rather than corn syrup, I'd suggest something like a store brand of K-Y Jelly with hydroxyethylcellulose in it to make the bubbles strong and self healing enough to do tricks with them. Keep on Bubbling!
Yet another great video. But hey, isn't their a synthetic polymer that gives the bubbles even more strength so they can grow to really big sizes and remain stable even longer then with a sugar polymer?
It seems like I remember hearing that one or two different kinds were used in the making of world record bubbles.
Great video, Shane. You remind me of a modern day Mr.Wizard. Bogosity and your little mini science lessons needs to be on some sort of actual network TV station.
Although, I doubt it'll happen, but I can picture it in my mind...
"First on Discovery... MythBusters! And up next, Bogosity! But first, a mini science lesson from Shane!"
Ha, here we go, giving that pesky "science" thing credit again. We all know God created the bubbles in your hand, because you prayed for them right before the video. :P
No, but seriously, interesting video Shane. As always.
You have kids, then? :D

Is there anything else we could use besides corn syrup or glycerin? I dont know where to buy that stuff. :(
annie8nguyen 1 year ago
@annie8nguyen You could try any kind of syrup or anything thick and gooey like that. Honey or molasses may work, too.

i think you'll find it's approximatly 12.7 dabs, it's equal to 12.723893444444444 (4's recur) dabs

thanx shane..i will try by adding glycerine..lets see how it works

pravindabir 3 years ago
Any thick, sticky fluid should do.
You can do without it, but the bubbles won't last as long.

That was a shocking video. I have never thought people would actually buy soapwater for bubbles, and don't know how to make it.
When I was a kid, dishwashing soaps made thick and sticky enough bubble mix. Vinegar was sometimes used as an addition.
Retardretroguy 3 years ago
Great to see you in video again Shane. Will you be making another brilliant Bogosity episode?
ShepMode 3 years ago
I'll be making more Bogosity, you can decide if they're brilliant or not.
Give me time. They're hard to make, so I'm going to try to get scripts for the next three together so I can shoot them all on the same day.

Yes, you can do it 1:1:1 with those ingredients, but I was using Stuff You Already Have Around The House.

Very nice video! You should make a series of this (just like your Bogosity series) and name it after your closing sentence: "Isn't science great?" :)
