  • You have kids, then? :D

I wonder what it would be like having a prominent youtube libertarian as a father... my dad says he's a libertarian, but he's really not. I mean, he's all for antitrust laws and US intervention abroad, and he's convinced that Ron Paul is an idiot. e.e

  • I CANT HEAR U, SPEAK UP PLEASE.

  • i like your beard.

  • you need some sticky stuff..... Thats what she said xD

  • use water soap and sugar.

  • @98mannus Hmm, hadn't tried it with sugar.

  • "If you're like me, and I know I am..." Great intro, haha.

  • the bubble companies must hate you.

  • Well, Bubbles are the result of a reckless, inflationary money supply. Basically, the Fed...Oooooh, THOSE kind of bubbles.

  • Is there anything else we could use besides corn syrup or glycerin? I dont know where to buy that stuff. :(

  • @annie8nguyen You could try any kind of syrup or anything thick and gooey like that. Honey or molasses may work, too.

  • hi, i didn't have corn syrup, so i used golden syrup, which is very gloopy, and the bubbles didnt form at all - it popped immediatly, can you help me?

  • @knockoutresponses I don't know enough about golden syrup to say; maybe it won't work. If it will, it's all about getting the proportions right. Maybe you need more of the syrup, or maybe you need more detergent.

  • LMFAO, ISN'T SCIENCE GREAT. :|

  • apparently if you like add a little scrambled egg your bubbles are strong enough to kick around like a ball , a football . ni

  • use gycerine instead of corn syrup... and 1 part detergent to 10 parts water...

  • lol i thought this was going to be about economic bubbles.. haha

  • No this is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

  • hey

pravindabir we get glycerine at any medical shop

  • can i use suger syrup becouse i dont know where can i get the corn syrup?

  • Should work.

  • so the ingrediants are detergernt, corn syrup and water?

  • i think you'll find it's approximatly 12.7 dabs, it's equal to 12.723893444444444 (4's recur) dabs

  • thanx shane..i will try by adding glycerine..lets see how it works

  • Yeah, glycerine should work. Let me know!

  • Im a kid....i like bubbles he he wats glycerine

  • but it is not availble in india,,is ther any substitute for tht?

  • Any thick, sticky fluid should do.

You can do without it, but the bubbles won't last as long.

  • i couldnt understand wht is that liquid in transparent bottle??

  • It's corn syrup.

  • nice video..only thing i couldn't understand is the liquid in white bottle..

  • Gee,thanks so much for the tip.I was using washing machine detergent and it doesn't work. Thanks so much.

  • A dollop = 12.7 dabs huh? They teach you that at Bogosity U? :P

  • We work with bogus units all the time at the Institute for Completely Bogus Studies.

  • Sign me up. ^^

  • cheesy smile

  • That was a shocking video. I have never thought people would actually buy soapwater for bubbles, and don't know how to make it.

When I was a kid, dishwashing soaps made thick and sticky enough bubble mix. Vinegar was sometimes used as an addition.

  • Great to see you in video again Shane. Will you be making another brilliant Bogosity episode?

  • I'll be making more Bogosity, you can decide if they're brilliant or not.

Give me time. They're hard to make, so I'm going to try to get scripts for the next three together so I can shoot them all on the same day.

  • You, sir, are the only person who is allowed to produce bogosity!

  • knowledge FTW

  • Damned imperical units. ;-)

  • I love bubbles.

  • What about Blossom and Buttercup?

  • They give good lap dances.

  • Dear god! D:

  • Are they 18 now? Man, I feel old...

  • No, they are, like, one.

  • Not enough chemical X.

  • that dollop joke was awful.

  • lol

  • this is pretty cool, I believe I saw either Bill Nye or Beakman made their bubble solution using glycerin instead of corn syrup.

  • Yes, you can do it 1:1:1 with those ingredients, but I was using Stuff You Already Have Around The House.

  • Very nice video! You should make a series of this (just like your Bogosity series) and name it after your closing sentence: "Isn't science great?" :)

  • Or your other catchphrase: "If you are like me, and I know I am..."

  • He's lying! those bubbles aren't for kid, he made it for himself! :P

  • Thanks for the video. More folks should get into home-brewing bubble solutions. Rather than corn syrup, I'd suggest something like a store brand of K-Y Jelly with hydroxyethylcellulose in it to make the bubbles strong and self healing enough to do tricks with them. Keep on Bubbling!

    RIBubbleGuy

  • Yet another great video. But hey, isn't their a synthetic polymer that gives the bubbles even more strength so they can grow to really big sizes and remain stable even longer then with a sugar polymer?

It seems like I remember hearing that one or two different kinds were used in the making of world record bubbles.

  • Yes, but this is just for home/kids' stuff use.

  • my god, you actually made an interesting video about bubbles... never thought that could be done

  • "if you're like me--and i know i am..."

    5/5 just for that line

  • Haha I thought that line was awesome too.

    "If you're like me--And I know I am..." Haha.

Great video, Shane. You remind me of a modern day Mr.Wizard. Bogosity and your little mini science lessons needs to be on some sort of actual network TV station.

Although, I doubt it'll happen, but I can picture it in my mind...

"First on Discovery... MythBusters! And up next, Bogosity! But first, a mini science lesson from Shane!"

  • Haha, totally!

  • These type videos are great! Also, have I mentioned how sensational your beard is, Shaned?

  • As far as I'm concerned, you can say it as many times as you want. ;^)

  • I will take this information to my later years in life. Thank you for the knowledge.

  • Great stuff, thanks for that!! (now I can afford new clothes again, and my kids will still have their bubbles, lol!)

  • :) YOU should debate Venomfangx!

  • Woah! THREE in one week!?

    Slow down fella! :)

I'm about to post my second one in the past year! :)

Hope you like it! (i think you'll find it humorous)

  • Shane, never stop making videos!

  • Ha, here we go, giving that pesky "science" thing credit again. We all know God created the bubbles in your hand, because you prayed for them right before the video. :P

No, but seriously, interesting video Shane. As always.

  • One question: what the hell is a dab? And please speak metric, it's the only language I understand.

  • I love aplyed Science! thanks for the vid.

  • Neat!

    And science kicks ass!

  • That stuff lasts forever. I think I still have a half of a bottle left that's about 10 years old.

  • My kids can use it up in a few days.
