Sounds like you lift totally off the throttle. Want to better your lap times? Try this, learn to keep it about half throttle and drag the break. This will keep the motor in the power band and keep it hooked up coming out the corner. With the right gear you should launch when releasing the break, not spinning the tires, and getting better top end. In traffic you'll have to learn quarter, third, and half throttle positions keeping the break minimized for each position. See you in Nascar!
JUst wondering what type of camera being used out of all the vids i have seen this has the clearest, most steady i have seen even the sound is clear and undisturbed???
They add weight to your kart depending on how "open" the rules from your track are.
You have to show a rule book from the "class" your coming from. I was using the "BlueWazoom OHV" that was handicapped at 410lbs. I have been there 3 times with 3 different engines. I am 8/9 wins.
ok im 13 and taking up go karting soon next year..can you please answer 2 questions of mine....what is the yellow flag for??
and what i have seen you do is stay wide then turn into apex like normal but when ur overtaking u stayed closer to the middle of the track.....so what im asking is this, to overtake someone on a ractrack like this do u turn normally on the apex but when you see the chance do you hug the inner of the race track more and claim the next corner as yours???
This is a good question... something that takes drivers a long time to learn. Well, you have to know your going to do it the lap before.
what I do is, come in to the turn slower and wider then I normally would, that way you can hit the apex sooner then normal. This gives you a better angle coming out of the turn. so you are able to turn under the driver in front of you. It also helps if you see he is bad coming out of the turn. If you watch, he is getting worse. Seat time is the best tool.
Yellow flag is wreck, slow down, no passing..and this is oval track racing..you pass when you can. Short track racing, especially dirt track racing, equals bumping, rubbing, and pushing people out of the way and/or using any part of the track to your advantage. There's really no "waiting" in passing.
holy shit, that looked like a dream to race. this is Jordan Ashelin btw. You were creamin them. I like the helmet cam, i've never raced at delaware before but with the helmet cam it gives ya a pretty good feel for the track... and that awesome setup lol
I have been down there 3 times and only lost one race... I helped a guy with a gear change, and he beat me. shit.
I like dirt racing way better then asphalt. its all about how soon you can get back on the gas. plus the weight disadvantage I have doesn't hurt so much on dirt. LOL
Nice racing and amazing video.

This is the Iowa Oval class.
Its a "run what you have at your track" class.

don't plan on doing much overtaking in your first few races, but by the time you start overtaking it'll be pretty obvious how to

watch the video, it is all about the setup. most of the guys at this track had way more power then I did.
the engines come from uncle franks, they may have HP numbers there.

Good example of a better suspension set up, not engine superiority.
