Just taking down my 11 meter antenna today and selling up, i am getting this all the time, it even intrudes down on 12 meters and up on 10 meters, in fact half the shortwave bands are full on interference and junk, the skip is now full of interference and is bringing in crap by the bucketload.
I have now moved on to U.H.F and washed my hands of the H.f bands, this broadband over mains wiring has a range of 1000 feet, so it could be down the end of your road and you would get p.l.t
there jamming divces and technicaly illeagal blow the bastereds if it was us hams we would be locked up so i got know problems useing 4k amps.we have to sit a test to operate these bands plt is stealing bandwith that belongs to licenced operators... i say fuk plt its not needed there are alternatives its just not as cheep as distroying ham radio.if you were watching tv an we put interference on your tv the air police woul have us on a spit and roast our balls off
who the hell uses cbs anymore, ppl try to battle interference and end up destroying everything around. get a job and the internet its alot better asshole. MY net spikes up everynight around 11 because some loser down the street thinks he is cool with his weak as cb and illegal amped up bs. NO LIFERS
@bukojuko Whether you personally use it or not, the fact remains that virtually all other users of the radio spectrum in question have to be licenced and follow strict procedures in order to operate, most of which follow international conventions due to the world-wide nature of communication on these bands. Indeed there are several aeronautical and marine communications channels, including several constantly monitored distress channels, that this system has the ability to interfere with.
And I'm sorry, but in my opinion your use of the internet is not worth the possibility of risk to life. By using this device you are actually in breach of the current Wireless and Telegraphy act (assuming UK location). Take it to the store and get your money back.
I also pick up PLT noise from a house in my next street. It's most noticeable on the CEPT channels and more so on AM. The Amateur HF bands are clear (obviously notched) but CB seems to have no protection. Just hope none of my immediate neighbours go for BT Vision. If they do I'll have to call OFCOM. All the best 'Rigsearch'
cb radio operators can also become hams this interference is not in the interests of anybody the people using these devices are unaware of the devastating effects they have on the radio spectrum these devices should quite rightly banned as they cant possibly conform to any uk or european emc regulations
This is a nightmare. Last I heard BT had no intention of rectifying the situation. I'm sure BT would be the first to intervene if any of our transmitters interfered with their system!
@lnichol9 In Portugal is the same. It´s dangerous to mess up with radioamateurs and CBs: some guys are responding with mobile 4Kw CB amplifiers, destroying the system, while they drive along the streets. Some have quit talking because they say it´s much more fun the PLC hunting...!!!
The Companies using PLC and the like are complitly STUPID, and they are having Big troubles and scandles. Don´t mess with peoples hate thougs whem they feal they are coned...

Have you contacted Ofcom?
You shouldn't have to live with this level of PLT interference.

Lucky for me this wasn't near my house but was a few doors along from a friends house.
delboyonline 3 years ago
Why do you think it was made licence exempt, because ofcom knew BPL was coming so removed the CB licence so you had no real fight against it.
