I can't believe I've been watching, G.I. Joe commercials for the last 45 minutes. Especially when you think of how annoying the commercials were in the middle of an episode of Talespin, or Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers.
HA! "And Techno-Vipers!" Man, not even kids knew what to do with Techno-Vipers. What's he doing? Isn't he supposed to be fixin' stuff? Naw, he's out snow boarding. No Techno-Viper knows what to do with those tools.
@GeekCreek Yeah, it just worked TOO perfectly for my Techno-Vipers. They're not even doing anything on the commercials either! It's pretty funny in a classic sense too...I mean, the creators of the commerical were probably stumped on how to make a mechanic exciting. How did they get around the problem? SNOWBOARDING!!
@Alexx1083 Would that the commercial's song would have accounted for this difficulty. Christ, I'd better watch it or I'm going to start a blog wherein I invite fellow geeks to write '80s Joe toy commercial anthems for Pursuit of Cobra and Sigma 6 toys...
Screw it, I'm off to HissTank now to start a thread... which reminds me: I really miss when JBL had more traffic, 'cause now I'm frequently forced to peruse HissTank instead, which has too much traffic...
@GeekCreek Yeah, I miss the traffic too. It's part of the reason for my lull in reviews; the energy just isn't there as much. Still I just finished uploading my pics for the Low Light review, and I'll start writing it tommorow, so there's that! Can't say it's gona be a positive reivew, though...
@Alexx1083 Really? Admittedly, I bought my Low Light and immediately tossed him into a baggie in my suitcase for a month, but he seems cool to me. Plus he looks like Brock Samson!
ya. there were a few i dont remember seeing in the cartoon. and some of the action figures too. all the more to imagine your own adventures when you were playing with them i suppose.
So you are saying some of the action figures were added that were not from the cartoon? What about the comic? I remember one cobra guy who had spiked leather straps on his chest with a big metal mask and boxing gloves of some sort. Who was that guy? he had blue pants.
Dangit I got the Cobra Wolf but I lost some of the missiles and put the wrong stickers on it in random stupid places because I was a small kid and had no clue what I was doing. I still have the driver too but his joints are so loose he is floppy due to being in water and snow all the time. I always thought he was a Ninja because of his ski mask hahaha!
I found the wolf in my parent's garage and it still has all the mis. and stickers for as far as i can tell. i can't find the driver, but i'm sure there is a goldmine of old figures somewhere in the garage/attic.
I bought this and the GI Joe figure Fast Draw at the same time, summer 1987, and can't think of "Beverly Hills Cop II" and its theme song "Shakedown" without this stuff coming to mind because it was at that same time.
