Nope. Xerxes has no connection to Rickenbacker. They were in a rush at this point of development (as they were forced to do Multiplayer) and re-used many textures. The level design also became...strange. At this point. They also did not have the resources to change the "Security Compromised" voice.
One thing I liked about Dead Space is that they changed the AI Announcer within the Military ship. A nice touch, they definitely used this game as an inspiration. :)
One thing that always piqued my interest was the ambience in the game...the strange sound effects one hears when exploring certain areas. Like for instance, the ambience that plays on the bridge of the Rickenbacker. You never hear those sounds anywhere else and its hard to define. I always felt it was meant to strengthen the urgency of killing the Body of the Many as fast as possible, cause it sounded like some sort of loud pressure or malfunction was occuring. I dunno, just a thought
Welcome back! Was a bit worried you'd lose interest once the original goal was no longer possible. I prefer subtitles, but it has nothing to do with your voice. I just like to listen to the sounds and music of the game. But I imagine subtitles take longer, so I'm not complaining!
I switched in very late on this part, since my subscription box is always full to the edge. Only my magnificent monthly-check brought me here. So, what is up there with that catwalk? Did you ever considered to use any cheat to come up there? I doubt there is a possible "cheat" to fly in SS2?. I will check into this an maybe post a video response once I um up there.
Regarding the voice. I like calm voices. And your's one of these. I wish I had such a voice. Fits perfectly!
I know how ya feel about voice commentating. Naturally, guys with deep voices will often sound monotone and uninterested, so they have to put in a tad bit more effort to show some enthusiasm; everyone else it's not even a chore.
Btw, did you ever take a look at those screens that show a side-view of the Von Braun? You see a yellow outline of a giant worm wrapped around the two ships (obviously its the Body of the Many). It's incredibly eerie.
I missed you like crazy! As other people have already mentioned, I was worried that you might have given up/abandoned this project, so it's really nice to see you back. (-:
Thanks for yet another great video and the epic (as always) commentary.
Good overall, but this part was indeed sort of not-too-fascinating in terms of action (and the commentary, but I guess there wasn't too much to comment upon. Keep in mind though that various fun-facts and interesting side-stuff are what added a lot of value to your videos.).
Just to let you know, I do not find your voice dull. I take that into consideration when I am listening to you because you are Slavic. That's just a typical accent for Slavic people (this is not meant in offense). Plus, you have very interesting things to say so I am focusing on what you are saying rather than how you are saying it :)
Finally! I hope you can finish the series this year! :P
By the way, it's nice to hear you talking instead of having to read text. Your voice is not boring at all, it's actually amusing how you seem to keep so calm even when surrounded by so many enemies everywhere.
I viewed the last 35½ parts a few weeks back, and I was worried you wouldn't be concluding the series. It is great to know that you're still up to it. ^^

Also... quite a nice dance-team at 10:50 ;)

I always find it funny how you go into such deep detail while you're being chased by everything.
