The captain I believe is a real man. He tried to go down with his ship but the people saved him. Like always a good captain always goes down with his ship, in this case tries to go down with his ship.
IMO, I don't get why people think that the important folks affiliated with the ships in jeopardy, such as Thomas Andrews with the Titanic, and even Captain Turner, must go down with them. That's not heroic, it's stupid. What would it prove if Turner went down with the ship? Absolutely nothing. Bruce Ismay was correct in getting off the Titanic. It would do nothing if he went down with her. Just a relevant thought.
Your right the captain had no part in the sinking yes he did tell the particapites but what captain wouldn't want the the people to be feeling fine instead of worried.
Interesting to see the lack of negative comments against the British considering the negative actions and faults displayed in this segment. All I have ever read on the other segments is how evil the Germans are.

Kimmel & Short were made fall guys for the attack on Pearl Harbor, but FDR made sure the aircraft carriers were out to sea.
The Maine sank and we went to war.
If the USS Liberty had sunk, we'd have blamed it on Egypt and the Russians and gone to war in the Middle East in 1967... Watch Dead in the Water

Was 9/11 a similar operation, done to drag the public into war? Why did 7 WTC collapse?

It really makes me livid that they tried to blame the whole thing on Captian Turner. He should not be blamed for nothing. It was not his fault.

I agree with you. Captain Turner was not blame. Much like Captain Smith who died on the Titanic, he was not to blame for the lose his ship.
