@fancyslimoshady Diddy and Jay Z do not compose melodies (or "beats" as you say). They are not musicians. They have good 'music people' around them to produce the melodies. But Diddy and Jay Z are not involved in the creative musical aspect of the recording. So Diddy did not make the BEAT (melody). Most likely Kevin McCall co-wrote the song w/Chris Brown (lyrical) and Kevin produced the melody
