  • uh stfu. ask Monfils if u want a real analysis haha.

  • Something tells me Gael doesn't think about that stuff as he sliding.

  • Gael Monfils and Roger Federer, Monfils love to rally too much and that was his downfall, all Monfils need to do is keep the game simple and short and play the ball away from Roger Federer and to keep Roger Federer move around by using tight angle,

  • feeling that pressure in my legs too, just like when you see someone hitting his nuts somewhere same feeling.

  • a slice plus the lifting due to his bodys movement... i wonder how the ball is turning. maybe both effects are canceling

  • OUCH!!!

  • the grasshopper...

  • woah moonwalk looking slide

  • i know how to slid to o:44

  • dont try this at home

  • @msods yeah because you would try that on a tennis court

  • Your joints aren't supposed to suffer this much abuse. Monfils won't be on the tour in a few years due to injuries.

  • ouch

  • He's freakin' fast.

  • fuck you! injuries are not caused by lazy footwork OR by sliding on hard court, it is just generic, some people get injured easily and some hardly get injured, usually talented players like fed don't get injured but players like nadal who work very hard for success get injured.

  • Yeah my ankle would snap like a twig on :56

  • sliding is probably the last thing you want to do on hardcourt surface... it wears of your mussels in between the joints, although the damage from doing do wont affect your performance in short term, but in the long run when you are an old fart you will know

  • That is Leroy the crack head from the Bronx.

  • AAAAHHH jeez his legs/ankles/knees!!! no wonder he's injured so often.

  • Lazy footwork... this is the cause on injuries...

  • @Siphodias92

So you consider Monfils has lazy footwork overall? Or this point?

What level do you play? No national I suppose?!

  • @Maksimov88 u arent a hotshot cos u play national m8, have u even STARTED itf's yet?

  • Comment removed

  • well thats why he gets injured alot

  • @deeyon12 usually injured due to his young Osgood Schlater sydrome that occured when he was young and continued on throughout his life.

  • must be a german guy speaking on the vid... right?

  • monfils is so tight to watch but i can understand why he is always so injured with that hard court slide but he's so tight! I wish he wasnt so inconsistent so he can rank higher!

  • thin legs

  • If he hadn't started sliding 3 meters from the ball he would have got there in plenty of time and played a decent shot, instead of lobbing up easy put aways.

  • @dodododa maybe it was hit really hard?

  • @dodododa absolute bullshit i slide(on hard), u get there faster when u slide n ur more balanced so wtf r u on about, u have no idea wot ur talking about

  • Ya this is crazy !

If you want to try that you'd better tape your ankles very firmly =)

  • I do it u just gotta use the edge of your shoe pretty dangerous if u mess up just a little Monfils is just a great athlete tho

  • if you mess up you break your ankles

  • ....i tried it....fuck

  • Do NOT try this at home.

  • hes crazyyyy

  • So risky! He's going to destroy his ankles sliding on hardcourts.

  • good point

  • nice!

  • incredible!

  • can you change the title from artistic to athletic because artistic is a terrible way to describe this marvel of tennis

  • he should specify its a sliced shot too

  • to me it seems like it is better to play this way on clay not on a hard court lol

  • no shit lol, thats why he warned wannabes to not try this on hardcourt lol

  • He was a about a pennies thickness away from leaving a streak of blood on that green court with his knee. That's just crazy flexibility and leg strength.

  • holy shit monfils is flexible

  • i hurts to look at him

  • nice motion but what was the outcome, looks like deliver easily the ball to the guy on the net also could have been a pretty calculated lob.

  • looks more like a drop shot... Monfils has a 2 handed backhand.

  • Well , :) nice try but the poster, mytennis4you replied to me: "Your first guess is right ;-)

He didn't get enough length on it. "
