@brt312 really? all of you ohno cocksuckers are just completely stubborn, blind, and arrogant. You KNOW he is a dirty racer. Even some pro level coaches that I talked to, AMERICAN coaches said that Apolo Ohno has been defended for way too long and has avoided the reality for way too long. He clearly pushed that skater. And if you say that he didn't, do you think he just wanted to warm his hand up by resting it on the other racer's ass? If so, then he's just a gay faggot. Face it, he sucks.
lol Apolo didn't cause the korea to fall... The contact in the last corner was between first and second then third and fourth. There was no contact between second and third skater. Therefore there was no way he made the korean fall lol.
Although yes it was a disqualify move reguardless.
actually apollo ohno pushed the canadian guy and then the canadian made sung si bak or watever fall down so yea basically it was apollos fault the whole time
apolo ohno has 8 medals. how many fucking medals does any other skater have, 1 or 2?? people are just jealous that apolo is pretty much the face of short track speed skating and the public doesn't even know the names of the other short track athletes HAHA
Mr Ohno has been on the beneficial side of many a controversial call in his long storied racing history. Sometimes these decisions go in your favour sometimes they dont. Thats the nature of the sport of Short track, and he should know that better than anyone. So ya, in my opinion the judging comment was a classless note on which to end his Olympic career.
i was happy about the result because i am canadian, but i must admit that too many controversial calls went for the canadians at this year's olympics. tania vicent got into a number of finals for random reasons, even though she finished last in the semifinals! well, that's what the sport is like. it's still really fun to watch because it's unpredictable.
I don't think he pushed that skater, and you can;t blame him for being upset. And it's not like he actually pushed or blocked Hamelin. He tried to keep from running into him. So look at it this way- at least he didn't step onto the gold podium or get a platinum medal like that whiney Russian figure skater guy did. He took it with more class than that. So get over it, be happy that Canada won, and don't go criticizing someone. Don't be a hater.
I have to agree with Apolo on this one. He didn't deserve to be diaqualified. Apolo wasn't being classless, he was just voicing his opinion (which I share;) that it is unwise to have a ref. who could possibly be tempted to rule in favor of his country's athletes.
I really don't think he pushed that skater, but that he went down by himself because he went too low on that turn. Apolo's FINGERS were just on him when it happened and speed skating is known to have many falls for even the best skaters, it was just ruled unfairly.
it seems like it would be better to have a referee from another country, a country thats not competing in the race, to judge it. i just think it would get rid of the bias accusations a little.
He barely had his hand on the hip. All SS put hands on backs & hips to keep from bumping into eachother when they get close. Hams little brother caused Ohno to slip with a hand on the hip in a previous race but Ohno was strong enough to stay up & gain back a spot on the podium. ST is an aggressive & controversial sport. If u know nothing about it quit making ur comments about technicalities, just admit u dont like Ohno & then move on
& the Ham did cause the Korean to fall but it was not called
If you Canadians are gonna call Ohno a cheater in this race, then you better call hamelin dirty too. watch a replay of when the Korean went down. hamelin had his hand hooked into his chest.
Which makes Ohno's sour grapes that much more embarrassing and classless, right?
It's obvious that the U.S. produces a great number of incredible athletes who dominate on the world stage. Pretty pathetic that they can't deal with losing one.
I would of been okay with it,But that Fact he Got Dq'd by a Head Canadian ref
Your playing with fire when you choose the Head Ref to be from the host country
Now that ive looked at the video,it doesnt matter if he didnt push off, when you put your hand that close, you leave it up to judgement,if you leave it up to judgement you deserve to lose.
Two speedskaters DSQ? Wow.... South Korea had their relay team DSQ, failing to win for the first time since 1994. I know at least one Canadian that was DSQ in short-track speed-skating. I'm not claiming to be an expert on speed-skating, but I would suggest reading up on the rules of the sport instead of trying to use patriotic preference as an argument.

Canadian judge, Canadian racers, Canadian soil, If you look at the video you can see the canadian guy push the korean guy,
1SILVER112 1 year ago
@1SILVER112 he just leaned on him
the korean guy just lost his balance..but still it was pretty cheap
but ohno pushed the guy which is why the canadian fell
this has nothing to do with the judges being canadian..
