My 18YO son got fired from his job at a local leisure centre, unfairly IMO. It was just because of a funny trick he played with a vending machine there.

He actually put a live rat in the bottom compartment, which obviously scared a few people when they attempted to retrieve their cans! Unfortunately a guy in his 60s got bitten, leading to an infection which left him in hospital over Christmas- BUT he should have taken more care. My boy can hardly be blamed for his susceptibility to infection.

Sorry, but if you're taking so god damn long to drink your soda that the ice is seriously diluting it, then you're going so slow that the un-iced drink is going to warm up in that time anyway!! Excuse me good sir (these first 4 words r for comedic effect, i dnt really talk like that), but soda is cold coming out of the despenser. There is no need for ice, while i respect ur decision to put ice (as alot of ppl do) If you let ur beverage sit long enough, the ice waters down ur drink (unless of course if ur drinking water). In the end the more ice u put the less drink you get, the less drink you get the value of whatever size drink u payed for goes down.

It's pretty cool, but it won't be cost efficient for whoever owns it. Syrups for unpopular flavors will expire, have to be thrown out, and then new ones will have to be bought, while not making profit off of the expired syrup.

@Owatatsumi Not quite true. The flavors are all highly concentrated and exist in small printer cartridge-like capsules inside the machine. The thing that *could* expire is the corn syrup, which is housed separately. But since the corn syrup is used for everything not diet, no owner should ever worry about any of the drinks "going bad." It's ingenious, really. There's one of these machines in the new Ivars restaurant that opened today in Puyallup, WA. It's so cool...
