and its not a simple case of US support Afghan rebels -> rebels become terrorists -> terrorists kill US. There were an infinite number of situations which created al-qaeda during the early 90s which is a fusion of Egyptian and Saudi Islamism. You can say Al-Qaeda's formation was more due to the influence of the defeated Egyptian terrorist groups rather than the victorious Afghan groups.

You sure Jimmy Carter didn't sign an executive order (written by Brzezinski) in July of 1979 (6 months before the soviet invasion) sending massive funding to terrorist groups in Afghanistan in hopes of destabilizing the country and forcing a Russian invasion. ZB even admitted this on record in an interview with Le Novel Observateur in January of 1998.

His buds have been buying our news agencies, newspapers, television channels, they have deep pockets, they are Saudis.
