I don't understand why they have to change something that works so well. Aluminum cracks over time plastic does not. Plus it weighs more but puts the weight where it counts the least. If you want to counter recoil hang a light from you gun. The added weight keeps muzzle flip down a lot. Glock has been making guns for a very long time and they know what they are doing - these guys just started making this thing.
@Jonesey115 less recoil with a heavier firearm. And honestly it's never a bad idea to have a spare frame in case something ever does happen to your other one.
@oOBunnyackOo Europe would have been the same as it is now, because Hitler wouldn't have waged WWII. Not sure if you're aware, but the nazi occupation of Europe was through military overpowering. So if there was no war, there would be no Nazi occupation either. I knew you'd use this example...
@oOBunnyackOo War isn't a necessary mean of evolution. I don't really understand what you're getting at. We'd be caveman without armed conflict? Yeah, actually that makes plenty of sense now that I said it out loud, forgive me.
@marksiwel eh competition , piece of mind for some, and it's admittedly kinda cool just to be a little different, I hold it in the same regard as the lone wolf Glocks, good upgrades for a pistol that really doesn't "need" them , but good none the less.
I had Robar do a grip reduction on my Glock 20 which makes it very similar to the metal frame in this video and I must say I hate it. Don't get me wrong, the work is great but I hate what it did to the gun because the majority (if not all) of the reduction was done on the lower part of the grip and not where it would reduce the trigger reach which is what I had hoped for. Having a 1911 grip angle might work for some but I like my Glocks the way they are. Anyone want to buy a Glock 20?
im not disputing that the robar is a nice weapon, nor that it is accurate. but the glock wasn't made as a beautiful piece of target machinery. it was made to be a combat weapon. to work when dirty, to be robust and durable. the tenifer coating, the polymer, the tolerances. it was all chosen for a reason. by making the slide and barrel stainless, you lose corrosion resistance. stainless will rust, tenifer wont. and you also have to lubericate stainless more. glocks run almost dry.
CCF Race Frame.... I wonder what race stands for? Hey some people spend $10k for a 1911. You can argue all you want on how the Robar gun sucks blah blah and how it's a waste of money and Glocks can go through tortures and can last forever but the bottom line is.... The Robar Glock is still a Glock. The CCF frame is not for everyone.
you must also consider the tolerances that are built into the glock. if you remove any of those tolerances with the robar, the slide/frame fit, the oversize chamber, anything, then there is not as much room for dirt to collect, and the gun will not be as reliable when filled with sand or mud. i have taken my glock and buried in wet sand repeatedly and it then fired without malfuntion, and with no ill effects to the gun. i would like to see a robar do that, i would be surprised
Seems like a waste of money to me. I've yet to hear of a major mechanical failure of the polymer portions of the Glock. The only non Glock factory Items I would buy would be new sights and a Crimson Trace Laser grip.
seems like it's just another toy for people with too much money. my stock glock 22 will take more abuse than this robar gun. and a 1911 is more reliable than the robar. it all depends on what you want, do you want to be differant, or do you want a gun that will work every time. the glock isnt made heavy for a reason, you carry it. and its made out of polymer for a reason. it is impervious to the elements, its simple and it works. you can drop it off a roof and it will still
no sir/ma'am i haven't. my comment isn't based on how it shoots or handles or performs, because im sure it would shoot well, and probably handles very well, and is quite reliable. on the range. when the glock 17 was invented, it came about to serve in military trials for a new pistol for the austrian army. it had to pass certain trials. i would like to see if the robar pistol could pass those same trials. i would be willing to put my glock through a torture test against a robar.
why? what is your point? if the robar design was different from the original glock design then yeah. it's basically a glock with a metal frame. so you see a video on youtube about a metal glock and you bash on it? right....
i believe that because it is metal, it will fail where the glock would not. the frame on a robar will crack at some point, a glock frame wont. because a glock has a tenifer coating, it is also superior to corrosion than the robar pistol. take a robar and a glock, remove the slide. throw the frame has hard as you can against a brick wall 10 times. which will survive? leave both guns in salt water for a week, or a month, the glock will out last the robar. u can even drop one from a plane!
H&K was the first company to implement the polymer frame, that's their legacy. Glock's legacy is simplicity, which is to say that it's the closest thing to a box magazine-fed revolver you're gonna find. And Robar's upgrades don't get in the way of this at all..
Glocks legacy is the same as ford motor company's. They took someone elses idea and made it cheap enough that real people could buy it. Only when glock hit the market did H&K start to produce a good cheap polymer frame pistol.
EXCELLENT! The one thing I definitely don't like about Glocks is the plastic frame (and the lighter weight, and the need to concentrate on having an especially rigid wrist grip).
@Dresden1065 I'd have to disagree. They may be really fun to shoot and even make. But, keep in mind. They are terrible devices that do terrible things....
whoa those groupings are excellent. To kinmayuen: there are a lot of reasons someone may want a heavier gun. because of basic physics heavier gun= less felt recoil= faster and more accuratefollowup shots , which is great for competition but also if u r a smaller shooter like a woman or have less strength in ones hands or wrists like me for example.
Only thing is they just copied a glock, dont know if there are any patent or copyright infringements doing this, I would be pissed if I was glock unless they allowed this, but looks real cool. I think they should send me one for review.
So there not a gun manufacturer, but they copy the glock frame, put on the glock serial numbers and sell them? Seems like they do manufacture glocks to me and im sure there is a copyright infringement there.
They do it off an existing Glock, and the Glock frame is not copied, its modified to resemble that of a 1911, rather than the curvature of the glock grip; therefore they are making an entirely new piece, which is not copyrighted by Glock. However, the slide and action assembly are of the existing Glock, so they are not considered a manufacturer. Glock got their money from the purchase, customization of a preexisting Glock will not reduce Glock's profit margin at all.
actually yes it does look like a military and police just because ur mad at S&W for competing with glock doesnt mean u have to hate the m&P glocks are overrated thats all i ever here the M&P is something different ....

Why would anybody want a metal framed Glock? The raison d'etre for the Glock was reduced weight and heavy firepower.
