  • oh im not so sure. id have to check that

  • Why are you in OD? Your truck accelerates faster by shifting.. 1-2-3-OD. TRY IT AND YOU'LL NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE.

  • Et ba il en faut du temp pour aller a 100 ( casiment 13 s ) et ba heureusement que s'est pas un 2,0

Je la comparerai a un hippopotame

  • 6.5's are not fast at all compared to the duramax.

  • @QuadPredator500 we all know that.

  • my scirocco would can this

  • @thescallykiller Your Scirocco can´t pull a 10 000 pound trailer or load up any stuff in an 8 foot box....

  • how many horsepowers ?

  • sounds very nice

  • @steelraptor its called dodge.

  • @steelraptor their children is called dodge.

  • Dang thats smooth! got up to 100+ no problem huh? And why is it almost red lining it? And btw your truck sounds nice!

  • @INTENSITY3000Studios Its a smoker man, doesn't need to redline it makes its peak torque damn near idling :-)

  • @FiredUpZ28 Haha nice, But i was asking cause it has the red line and all so i was wondering if its auto or what? most autos dont have redlines

  • Google dude, try that first

  • I didn't realize it was KM/H at first and was amazed. Still pretty fast though.

  • I HAVE GMC SUBURBAN 1995 HIS TOP SPEED IS 200KM\H

    AND THIS IS INLY 180KM\H

  • It IS a 6.5 TD, and it's NOT stock! Shift points have been altered, along with the removal and deprogramming of the emissions restrictions. And yes, for all you yanks that don't have a clue about diesels, the speedometer is in KM/h. I'm Canadian, it's a Canadian truck, get over it.

  • @RopesNchains are you one of the people (inwhich i am) who stands by saying GMC is General Motors Canada?

  • the tranny in the 6.5's never would shift into overdrive at 80 or so.... they shift much sooner than what urs did in the video

  • thats not a turbo 6.5?

  • How reliable are these motors really? I want to buy one to learn more about diesels (exelent with gas powered engines). I was wondering if the 6.5 is any good, or should Iget a Cummins or Powerstroke instead? I would like to stay with the best trucks, but IDK bout that 6.5!

  • @Motorfordtoyota I mean these motors are by far the cheaper to maintain, own, and buy. sure they are dogs and you can't boost the shit outta them because of the already high compression but they are pretty dam reliable. Also they get some of the best MPGs out there for this size and type of motor. I learned most of my diesel info with this motor.

  • @steelraptor OK, cause I mean, I like the Powerstroke, but for a Newbe to the Diesel world, the underhood is extremely, well, odd. To confusing. I also like Cummins alot, BUT HATE RAMS!!!! Way to unreliable on Dodge's part, Not cummins'. I wasnt sure bout the 6.5 though, cause I have seen plenty of dead ones (Im assuming that they were abused) And not to mention, Chevys Rule!

  • @Motorfordtoyota I blew mine, well beat the living shit out of it, cracked a head, then ran is for 10k miles while it leaked coolant into the oil turning it into jello and starving the engine of lubrication for 50 miles before it locked up but didnt seize, still cranked but wouldn't start till it was cool. These motors are good, just stock exhaust creates way to many EGTs and a crossover kit for the heads keeps them from cracking. Otherwise they last a long time.

  • @steelraptor

What are the specs of the 6.5 ? How much can it tow and how does it do 0-60 in good maintained order?

  • do the metric chevys have that fuel guage type? mine just has E and F

  • km/h?

  • rear wheels are on jack stands cheater show road too

  • dude ur going to need fuel soon lol XDXDXDDXDXDXDXDXDXDXXDXDDXDXD

  • 12 seconds DAMN!

  • yeah, this is in km/h... not m/h, thats why the accel looks so quick its really not...

  • it reads mph, not km i can see it.

  • um why is your oil press not higher @ this speed under this acceleration? why is there no diesel only above your gasoline ups im sorry diesel gauge? why does your cluster go to 180 mph?

  • @yelowlude because his gauges are km/h(most likely a canadian truck)

  • @outdoorsman766 it says MPH on in the cluster....

  • @mooseoftoose i know, but the guy asked why it went to 180mph, i see the smaller font mph under the hm/h

  • No way...thats the same dash as mine too...my truck cant accelerate that fast with the turbo

  • Yeah I don't care what anyone says about a chevy, I will always love them. Im not particularlly fond of diesels, I would rather have the 350!

  • must be kilometers?

  • where can you get a hp upgrade for the 6.5 i have a cummins with a tuner and it works ok but i miss my chevy 6.5 it had a nice sound

  • @tuna2doggs

Check out Kennedy Diesel, HEATH diesel or Penninsular Diesel, they all have lots of performance and reliability improvement stuff for 6.5's

  • You're almost on empty dude.

  • a 6.5 will pull with a 7.3 idi. and 1st gen cummins thats what it was desingned to compete against although the cummins was better. the 6.5 was ahead of its time with the first efi diesel in small trucks. injectors, exhaust and intake will get a 6.5 to start to compete with the big guns... a chip with injectors and exhaust and intake will make it actually seem like a 7.3 stroker

  • Chevy and Ford as long as it is an American built truck its built tough. They both have their strengths and downfalls, but man have em both and you got the best. I love my Ford and I love my Chevy. Shame they couldn't have children =p

  • @steelraptor idk, some foreign trucks are built pretty tough, i had a toyota hilux and i put a piston through the block, and managed to drive it 80km home with it still running...

  • @steelraptor wat about dodge gotta love 'em

  • @steelraptor does nobody like Dodges? All they need is a tougher transmission.

  • @steelraptor

I'm not much of a Ford guy but i know that both could use some help from the others in different categories. I almost built an S-10 with a Ford 302, but ended up building a K5 Bllazer instead.

  • Actually your all wrong the 6.5 and 6.2 are very much different engines and come in a variety of configurations and are designed by Detroit Diesel and built by GM in the AM general factory. they were never gassers. your thinking of the 5.7 diesel that is basically a gas 350 converted over compression on my 6.5T is 21.1:1 btw

  • what ever it was it wasnt stock.

  • the diesel engines has normally compression 20:1, that truck must have compression 25:1

  • the 6.5 used around 20:1 compression ratio since its an IDI engine design

  • The 6.5L Holds 21:1 compression stock. Many chose to lower compression to 18:1 for a chance to get more performance out of them.

  • here in Argentina we are making ford ranger with 4 line cilidners, 3000cm3 and 163hp with powerstroke intercooler turbo direct inyection common rail, with 350nm of torque @ 1800rpm. Its more efficient engine than chevy americans olds V8

  • i bet this truck could out pull that ford ranger easy

  • uh duh! any thing could! why are u compairing a big block diesel to a piss ant wanna be truck produced by ford

  • you didnt have to comment of course everyone know that a chevy is better then ford and if you think ford is better your a retard so you didnt need to comment it was a waste of time

  • Comment removed

  • a 6.5 liter TD wont stand a chance against a 7.3 liter powerstroke how can you even say such a arrogant statement?

  • other way around dude 6.5 would fucking pull the ford sideways

  • The 6.5 might pull the Ranger side ways but a powerstroke could pull the 6.5 liter sideways into 2 wheel drive up a hill with chevy's brakes on

  • video it and this ill belieave it

  • if that was MPH that would be retardedly fast. Still fast though.

  • that sure as hell sounds like a 350, not turbo diesel!

  • wrong. Its a 396 Big Block Chevy converted to a diesel. Its a 6.5(396) not a 5.7(350).

  • I knew it was something from a gasburner.

  • that dont mean any thing

  • wrong. its a bored out version of the 6.2L diesel. the 6.2 was a brand new engine design on its own from detroitdiesel and GM. has no relation to a gasser except for the shape of the engine

  • About the only thing is holds in common with any Chevy gasser engine is the fact that it has 8 pistons in a V configuration tied together with a crankshaft.

  • you mean just like any other V8 design (gasser or Diesel) lol....

  • but it isnt the 6.2L block its a 396block

  • its not a 396 block at all. its a 6.2 block thats been bored out.

  • Technically the 6.5L is considered a 395. I believe it is how they measured/calculated it from factory.

  • @TheTerminator310

    not even close

  • Fast!

  • Nice truck. KMH??? where is that from and i need help finding good info for repaireing and modding 6.5 turbo engines i have one with rod knocking and the another i just got from a 96 truck i am going to replace the bad one with please help

  • that was 4.5 sec to 60 how in the hell?

  • thats in km/h

  • well im an idiot lol i was gunna say thats un godly

  • lol dont worry about it lol

  • @mike12392 COz it is proabably Canada..!!!

  • Its in Kph not MPH. The 100 mark is actually 60 MPH

  • more like 13secs :P 0-100kmph is about the same as 0-60mph

  • @seansezs

    100kph is 62mph

i assume that is what you ment, you said kmph?

  • TIME TO FILL ER UP. 30 gallon diesel tanks :( 60-70 bucks.

  • More like 85- even though self-service can't get you more than 75!

  • what you got done to it?

  • Four inch straight pipe from the turbo to the back. Cats have been cut out. K & N airfilter with a custom made airbox. All emmison controls removed and disabled in PCM. And of course a 50 hp program. That video is almost a year old. I need to put another one up as the truck is running even better now.

  • looks like you need some putro or you arent going to be going verry much further lol

  • ? what kind of guage cluster is that never seen one like it?

  • Holy crap! How the hell is it so quiet in there? I guess there is something seriously wrong with my truck haha

  • Great observation. However, when that video was taken my alternator was dying, thus causing the drop in voltage. I have since replaced it and the volts hold steady at 14 under all conditions.

  • You have a bad battery,,,,,one battery is pulling down the other one....You are running that hard with out lites on and you are under 14 volts

  • Alright.

  • Way too quiet. My 95 6.5 does 0-60 in 8 secs according to the G-tech, it's far from stock however.

  • That's a pretty big statement. I would like to see the video that proves it.

  • @trevorgorda yours did it in 10 stock, i would assume his far from stock doing it in 8 makes sense

  • @trevorgorda still waiting for the video!

  • Trucks running good, you should post more vids

  • Not bad at all. He took it up to about 80mph i believe.

  • That speedometer reads KPH in the large numbers. He's not going as fast as you would think he is but still, pretty impresive nontheless.

  • I see your fuel gauge is like mine always reads.

    on E.

  • now there's a healthy diesel
