Funny how it says 'you must buy a ticket before you get on' just as the doors are closing!
If you ask me, there are too many announcements - the amount on the 350 I was on was perfect. It was only this at each station, for example, Coventry: "This is Coventry. This train is for Birmingham New Street, the next station is Canley." And on approach "We are now approaching Canley." That's all there was at each station, shame about London Midland's voice though.
@WrongRoadRailways The London Midland one is the same one that is used on Southern and Southeastern Electrostars, all 3 are owned by Govia so use the same announcement system. I prefer the LM version over the SWT voice :)
And as a non-native English speaker it can be very hard to understand everything unless you look at the display (and my English is almost perfect). Fortunately I know the stopping pattern by heart, so I don't have to think about it.
HIya, All First Scotrail / SPT trains have the same announcements within the Glasgow Network as you comment on
Thanks

I disagree, Julie Berry's voice gets very annoying on long journies with many train divides en route announcements.

yeah thats a good point. but i am against train companies having to put annoucments in differn lanquages. but clear voice annoucments are always good
Ldntrains 2 years ago
i didn't say they should announce in other languages, only speak more slowly (like on the class 376s operating on Southeastern)
