short shifter

On the stock shifter, there's a rubber boot that covers the ball joints.. Now my question is, if you order a short shifter on ebay, do they include that or you have to use your stock rubber boots? Because mine is bad and they dont have it auto parts store

I was looking at a mitsubishi eclipse the other day (1993). The only thiing i didn't like about it was how it had a short shifter. I like a nice loose gear shift. So my question is...can a mechanic take a short shifter out and lengthen the "H" that the gear shift sits on, and install a regular shifter? or will that be impossible and/or way too much money. And if you have a price in mind...say what you think.

easy fix go to a junk yard and get a stock shifter, half an hour and its all set its quite easy fix too i got a short shifter on my bmw m3 i like it

it was in my old s13 silvia. just a cheap one, it was a 50$ one off ebay, rattled round at 5000rpm so became pretty noisy. didnt really make shifting that much quicker since u needed to wait a second for the syncro's neway. still felt good though

he's the ebay link for the exact shifter, better off paying the extra bit though and go a nismo one or just keep it with the stock shifter. short shifter just seemed fun at the time since the silva was non turbo.
