I trying doing this, but I really didn't have the heart to kill Annette so I went back and saved Tera and Iris and then I was able to save Annette. Call me sensetive or whatever but I perfer to rescue her, not kill her.

To rescue Anenette, you must first save the two other hostages beside Maria.  One is in Alternate Stage 3, and the other is in Alternate Stage 4
