unlike some of the great players you don't have to very good at chess to feel the excitement of playing through his game or to feel him putting his own personal stamp on the game like a ton of bricks.
Alekhine and Fischer, two people who sacrificed everything for chess ................ and paid the price for it. And you've got to ask yourself, is this what you have got to do to be a brilliant chess player.
La fotografia del segundo 0.29 corresponde a un maestro aleman llamado Klauss Junge, rival de Alekhine en un torneo de Praga y que murio en el frente oriental de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
The best chess player of his times. The only unbeaten world champion - held crown till his death. Personally I don't believe he would be unbeaten nowadays if he lived because contemporary chess are already out of human mind. However Alekhine taught us a lot he's created and developed the highest class modern chess theory. He is one of the greatest chess predecessors. R.I.P. GM Alekhine.
@krruger79 He didn't have a world championship match from 37 till his death, would love to have seen Capa get another shot at the title. Would have been a good match. Please correct me if I am wrong
I really adore the extraordinary talent of Alexander Alekhine...he is one of the Gods of Chess and his masterful will be remembered always through the centuries
Aw poor Alekhine I find his appearance so poignant ( dont sympathize with him too much, at the chessboard he kicked everybody's face in ) lovely song too
Ah yes, indeed one of the Gods of Chess - always remembered, never forgotten as long as chess itself endures. I'm glad that others revere him as I do. Thanks for posting.
L'idea è questa: un uomo parte, un uomo arriva... ma chi è quest'uomo arrivato in stazione? Durante il viaggio... la sua storia. La canzone ed i vari "salti" tra le immagini dovrebbero rendere l'idea del treno. GMAlekhine
No champion had to beat a true giant like Capablanca..That was "the most incredible task" ever.
Thats why i think he is the best chess player of all times!!!

That "alledged" death photo at 1:04-1:08 is a fake,Alekhine's body was found on the floor and they posed him in the chair for a dramatic effect

Yes, one of the Gods of Chess. However, this particular God refused to give Capablanca a rematch. Hmmm...

It's quite a shame that he didn't get a rematch.

El gato que aparece en la foto se llamaba "chess" ajedrez en español. Esto demuestra lo mucho que amaba este juego!
