But isn't it true that the only way that you can view downloaded skins (including Id@lmaster aircraft) on your opponents' planes is only when you've downloaded those yourself?

I heard that if you don't have the skin yourself that your opponents with special skins will appear in default colors that come standard (and unlocked) in the game.

I personally wouldn't know since I don't subscribe to XBL Gold.

The thing about is, each batch of planes come in "packs". When you download one of the planes, you're actually downloading all the planes in from the pack, but you only unlock one of them. So if you were to download a plane from one pack, but didn't download the others, you can still see the other planes from that same pack being flown by other players.

...And each pack comes with a free aircraft, so those uninterested in spending MS points can still see the other planes in multiplayer.

Besides exclusivity rights, I read that Project Aces developed Ace Combat 6 primarily for the XBox 360 because of a) it was an established next-generation system and b) they were finding it more difficult to develop this title for the PlayStation 3 at that time.

Ace Combat 6 has online gameplay as well as downloadable content (aircraft, super-difficult missions, and multiplayer).

The green missile exhaust trails came with the plane. The latest ID@LMASTER fighter has these in blue and the Crimson Su-33 has these in red!

The painting of the SU 47 gives it stealth capability but you tore it out for that paintjob which I don't think would allow its pilots to add.

The Berkut does have reduced radar signature features (including radar absorbent materials), but this is no stealth fighter.

If you want to play something more realistic, no one is stopping you from playing Microsoft Flight Simulator X or any similar titles.

Ace Combat 6, and all the other titles in this series, is a jet fighter arcade shooter for the rest of us.

You can always contact Bandai Namco about the "embarassing paintjob" and the green missile contrails that sicken you. Perhaps this series' developers will do something about these issues. But then again, they most likely won't.

To me, the paint job reminds me of classic World War II buxom bombshell paintings on bombers, except this time, it's done in a much larger scale and in the manga/anime style.
