aihhh ... i like this girl. But her mandarin is incomprehensible and steers away from the original pronunciation. So bad. Maybe she should focus on trying to pronounce the words first rather than doing all the vocal stylings, which she did greatly by the way.

agnes can't speak chinese because many Indonesian Chinese prefer to speak Indonesian language rather than Chinese language.....same like Thai Chinese...they speak thai most of the time and not chinese...

we Chinese Indonesian mostly can't speak Chinese because of Suharto discriminatic regime,but since he fall from power in 1998 everything change since then,now mostly later generation of Chinese Indonesian free to learn Chinese like Singaporean and Malaysian Chinese

@azharkent the chinese language and activities were very repressed in new order era. So most of the chinese that got in elementary school at new order doesn't have a chance to learn their language. I also belong to this group. My sister and brother got in elementary school after Soeharto fell, so they got mandarin lesson. TT_TT
