still one of my favorite fps games ever. really pissed they switched to 3rd person. red faction 2 was alright, wasnt near as good as the first but still better then some of the garbage fps campaigns they release nowadays. Guerrilla wasnt a bad game but the environments were boring and im pissed they went to 3rd person. Red Faction Armageddon was just pure garbage. Considering that the first one was one of the best fps games every i cant beleive they tried to change it so much over time.

Is it true that with enough explosives, you can make your own paths through the game? Like, to get into a room you could blow a tunnel down and under the wall?

@ForevermoreNevermore yeah,it works on multiplayer too.one level is two opposing fortresses in a ravine.you can litarally blast a tunnel from one fortress through the cliffside into the other.but at some point when you do enough damage to the level,it stops working.you can only modify the level so much before you max out the ps2s internal memory.at that point explosions stop making holes.some levels you can really blast the shit out of.

@mymovienerd Was? It still is one of the best for the PS2 and I am still playing it lol. I kind of wish they hadn't transferred to third person with the newer Red Faction games but I still like them. PS2 is so popular that games are still made for it from time to time.

@ZowolfX Yeah, switching to third person felt like a step backwards and strayed from the original. First person has more depth, more detail, and was more engaging. The action was better too, Red Faction Guerrilla just overwhelms you by sheer numbers with enemies spawning everywhere and enemy armored vehicles in a massive pile up.

@FortitudeOfHeaven Well yeah the action was good. Although I felt Guerrilla has depth and a detailed open world. It is good still. Armageddon went back to the linear path but still kept a good amount of destruction and fun which was more like Red Faction 1, just with third person. I love third person shooters, but first person has always been my favorite. Right now in RF1 I'm fighting with the mercenaries and their rail drivers are slaughtering me.
