  • nice guitar. where is the beer? ;)

  • @TheBeefboy666 drunk, what else! ;-)

  • Sounds great.. Check out some of my Tokai and Gibson Guitar demos with new Aussie MI Iron Duke amp..

  • Tokai LP with SD JB or 59` are just perfect

  • nice...hey I have a Tokai LS95 in HDC colour that I bought in '98 what model would that be now?

Tokai's are great but my favourite LP is my Bacchus....

  • you play some

    good guitar sheepdog !!!

  • Sounds great. Although you could play a cheapo guitar through that rig and still sound good.

  • @jdmarti100 psssst, don´t tell nobody! ;-) Yes, I can also play a cheapo and try to make it sound good, but you will notice differences, like sustain, harmonics, ... ! To me the japan made Tokais offer very nice wooden sounds, with nice sustain, and nice dynamics. And that´s a thing I found on all Tokais I had in my hands (japan made) , so my heart goes for Tokai!

  • @AcysLounge HELLO CAN YOU PRINT THE TABS TO THAT RIFF I HEAR THAT EVERY TIME I LOG ONTO UTUBE LOVE IT AND YOUR SOUND RULES DUDE I HAVE EDWARDS DONT LIKE THE PICKUPS SH1 SH4 GOT TO GET BURSTBUCKER IN THERE

  • @SKYNYRD489 Thanks mate, the burstbuckers should give you more the sound of a typical Les Paul than the SH4, so go ahead!

  • Acy - perplexed by the tone of the "Rocka". 1:32 in, is that only the amp? No pedals? What kind of volume do you have here? I have a JMP 2104 and with a treble booster can get a great tone, different from this one though. You said it's based on the 2203 circuit but you must have pulled some "Acy mod" stuff?? Lovely tone it is!! Cheers - Jonas

  • @JonasSweden2 That´s just my fingers, the guitar, a cable, and the amp and cabinet ......., for sure! ;-) That´s exactly the 2203 circuit, "but" ... like a hot rodded Volkswagen Beetle looking the same, but way better!

  • @AcysLounge HEY GREAT SOUND CAN YOU PRINT THE TABS FOR THAT RIFF THIS IS MY SAVED UTUBE VIDEO I WATCHED THIS EVERYTIME I LOG ON LOVE TH E OTHER VIDEOS TOO PLAY SOME SKYNYRD MAN YOU HAVE THE SOUND FOR IT I CANT PLAY BY EAR SO PLEASE PRINT THE TABS FOR THAT THANKS

  • string bend notes from 1:43 to 1:55 are out of pitch is that you or the guitar neck doing something weird?

  • I was thinking to buy an Epiphone Standard... or an Epiphone black beauty... But tokai's are better? Let me now your opinion please :)

  • @MrWebon Japan made Tokais are better for me.

  • @AcysLounge Thanks for your opinion brother :)

  • Ahve you had a chace to play FGN (Fujigen Neo Classic or expert Flame)?

    How does it compare?

  • キレイナギターだわ

  • I was thinking of getting a Tokai made in Japan SG88 but i heard about SG nose dive which has put me off. As it would be an order from Japan i would be taking a risk. I like sg's though although not many people seem to play them.

  • @MENSFORTHHILL99 As I´m playing SGs since many years, I never had problems with nose dive as I hold these bitches hard with my left hand! So no chance for diving!

  • @MENSFORTHHILL99 . The Tokai SG88 is a killer guitar, they're well balanced unlike Gibson SG Standards. No risk ordering direct from Japan as long as it's a Tokai there's no risk, it will be PERFECT out the box. Next question? :)

  • @CrazyDiamond1968

WHAT ABOUT IF ITS A TOKAI SG MADE IN CHINA?

  • Your tone is fuckenhuge Please enlighten me to the secret oh sensai

  • @peterm3964 Hey mate, you made me laugh! Thanks for that! I think the right hand´s very important, hit the strings with right power, and at the perfect point, that makes just a simple riff sound small - when just stroking the strings - or big, fat and nasty! ;-)

  • @peterm3964 ...TOKAIIIIIIIIIIII

  • question: is there a difference in sound to a sg or a les paul?

  • @MENSFORTHHILL99 Yes, as SGs are pure mahogany guitars, and Les Pauls (most models) have a maple top. That maple top adds some treble frequencies, on the other hand SGs have a thinner mahogany body, so they some a lil bit similar with same pickups, but still different in detail. Les Pauls got more bottom and that treble top, and SGs do not have that fatter bottom, and not the treble top. SGs usually go faster, sounds comes quick!

  • Are those the stock Tokai pickups? If they are, they sound really good for stock p'ups. Great playing and feel,by the way!

  • @caintapi Yes, that´s the stock pickups.

  • and how much did it cost? and what exact model is it? ls150 ls90...?

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 That´s been a special custom model, with AAAAA maple top, price was around 2000,- EUR.

  • @AcysLounge ..yes it's a "special order" model, but not custom, it has the same specs as an LS160 except it has a AAAAA Flametop, so your guitar sounds like any LS160 sounds...I know I have both your guitar and LS160 models.

  • I have a question, are the newer tokais as good as the vintage ones?

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 About qualtity of woods and work, yes! Only difference is the age, when a guitar has been played for 30 years, it sound different to a new one. But buy a new one, and listen to this one in 30 years! I own one old one (1984), it sounds good, but not better than my new ones. Just a matter of taste.

  • why did 7 people not like this? wow. awesome all round :)))

  • @thelolguy007 That´s a normal thing to me, some people like, some don´t. Absolutely ok!

  • Sounds like Angus Young : good Guitar!!

  • sounds like the angels..

  • @figzor Go "The Angels"!!!!!!!!!! Hope they´ll make some new songs soon, and may be we´ll get that great concert Symphony of Angels on DVD. That would be great!

  • Wow... really sings. The harmonics are very lyrical. So much personality. Congrats.

  • @intrsoul Thanks mate!

  • @AcysLounge i had a Burny... plays good too compare to a modern gibsons... =)

  • @poichai I guess the japanese craftsmen are doing good jobs, when I look on Tokais, Burny, Grecco, .....! All these are good guitars.

  • Hi,

Do you know any good places in Europe, that you could possibly go personally and pick a Tokai Les Paul a try it out?

    Thanks, nice palyin man

  • @braidedwire Hey braidedwire! That´s a funny nick! Great! That´s what I have in all my guitars, braided shielded wire! Places? Not really! What baby are you looking for?

  • @AcysLounge

I'm thinking of getting a nice MIJ les paul in the nearby future , but my hope to spend less money went away with ESP Edwards. Tokai seems only reasonable good quality guitar, but still expensive. I really don't know, what i'm looking for. First it was Burny, Grceo or Orville, then Edwards - but many people say the wood quality is poor. I was just curious if you knew a place (non-internet store, shop) with a choice of Tokai guitars.

  • reminds me why i need a Les Paul - as much as i love my sg, those are just two different beasts

  • @amaurythewarrior Les Pauls are often missunderstood. Specially in 90s and 80s Les Pauls sounded like wrapped with thick blankets. I bought my first Les Paul beginning of the 90s, and after changing pickups and pots that thing sounded as I wanted it to sound. Alive and rockin! SGs and Les Pauls are not way different, you can hear the mahogany, but you can also hear the maple top of the Les Paul. SGs different neck pickup position makes that pickup not sound perfect! Go ahead mate!

  • @AcysLounge that might be oversimplifying, but i tend to think sgs have a more "medium" song, while les paul seem to have a more balanced sound. which might make them more polyvalent. well that's all just bullshit, i need no excuse for wanting a les paul ^^

  • I hear Tokais are awesome,(well obviously!,Lol,sounds better than alot of the LP's I' ve heard!),but I hear that Edwards are the cream of the Japanese crop for LP copies.Great playing dude, your style is right up my alley and that bad boy looks like a 59' holy grail.B-E-A-utiful geetar!Wish I could jam with ya sometime.

  • The high-end Tokai's are every bit as good as Gibsons. The only difference is they dont have the extra +USD 1000 attached because of a name tag !

  • Nice playing man! Well done :D

  • hello hello hello wre can i get me one of those tokai les pauls mr gotta av me one please

  • Loved the tone from the neck PU. Majorly smooth with good sustain. I might get this guitar one day! :)

  • they are now soon on sale in australia, new distributor, 'Jade Australia', jap premium & vintage and china traditional models - jadeaustraliadotcomdotau, how do i know, don't work for them, i just knows

  • @AnthonyYaff

you're just one of those peaple who think that the only real guitar is a gibson.

(Gibson's are great guitars) But some players does not look at brands. They just

pick a guitar that suits them. They don't go like dude it's a gibson les paul so I

buy it couse it's a Gibson. they buy it couse they like that guitar.

So stop whining about getting real Gibsons and stuf. and let the player pick the

guitar he wants. if you don't respect his gear than piss of and go for a run!

  • @TheStringsonaGuitar That's very well said, I just bought a Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus to supplement my Gibson Les Paul Standard ( I'm afraid of playing it because I think I might break it ) but after discovering these guitars, I kind of feel I got ripped off and may have to go out and get one ( keeping the Epiphone though, seeing as how there's nothing wrong with it ) I had to take a break from Fenders, those single coils were giving me way to many headaches lol

  • @TheEternalLeader Yeah, Yeah, Fender lovers I do understand I can just mod them and maybe put on a different pickup but I wanted to try something else before any of that, now I think I found my new favorite guitar. We can't all like the same thing right ?

  • @AnthonyYaff Had enough Gibsons, that did not satisfy me like these guitars do!

  • @AnthonyYaff these guitar cant be sold in north america do to a law suite ....Gibson was gettting mad the tokai with making a better guitar then they could. Im not knocking Gibson i love them but i i said is fact. there just to big and pump out to many guitars to make the way they used to.

  • @Jordan060692 In what way are they better than GIbsons?

  • @AnthonyYaff iv just found the quality over all is much higher then that of Gibson. dont get me wrong i love Gibson but why pay that much when u can have a guitar with just as good quality or better for a fraction of the price

  • @AnthonyYaff Because they are a more faithfull copies of the Les Paul '59 for a price comparable to a Gibson Studio

  • @AnthonyYaff Compare the price of a Tokai LC85 and a Gibson Les Paul Studio. And the Tokai not only looks better, but plays better in every way imaginable.

  • @AnthonyYaff The new Gibsons sound pretty bad for their price. Why paing about 2000dollars and get a guitar that sounds like one for about 1000? I wouldn't pay for a Gibson from 90's or earlier, the older ones are good! But the next problem is, these ones are to expencive. So better buy one of these beautiful tokais, they're just blowing my mind (;

  • @AnthonyYaff The Gibson's that are made today are so far removed from the original 1959 models that they're just as much of a clone guitar. At least the Tokai's aren't overpriced!

  • @AnthonyYaff I have now revised my positions. Gibsons now suck. I'm sorry

  • @AnthonyYaff Why buying a real Gibson guitar if you can get a cheaper model at the same quality? just my opinion. Anyway, it's not about having a "real" or "fake" les paul - it's about what you are doing on your guitar.

  • @AnthonyYaff Some say that these tokai models are better than gibsons, with this specific model, its true.

  • @AnthonyYaff haha fail

  • can you talk?

  • @redfenderguy I could, but there´s already too much talking in YT!

  • @AcysLounge hahaha fair coment mate i dont blame you

    great playing btw

  • This Tokai have sound as SG! :)

  • vraiment sympa le morceau !!! tu n'aurais pas la tab par hasard ??? congratulations !!

  • is this just random doodlin or does the riffs belong to a song? sounds alot like AC/DC to me

  • @gugge92 just doodlin, and doodlin, ........ the AC/DC touch is in blood, as grown up with AC/DC and learning playing guitar with AC/DC songs. Using vinyl records, and never giving up .......... so that´s a big part of my guitar playing.

  • @AcysLounge You kind of look like you could be a member of AC/DC

  • @AcysLounge hiya mate love that lil tune do you sell these guitars ?? are you in a shop

  • what shirt is that!!! i recognize the logo in the centre! i think its irish football but i doubt it cos your in germany lol!

  • @sunnyjim98 Hey mate, we´re livin on a small planet, and the fact that I´m sitting in Germany does not mean I´m only running round wearing a Bayern Muenchen shirt! brrrrrrrrrrr ..... ;-))))))) I´m a global man, the shirt is NSW Blues, Australia! And sometimes I´m trinkin irish beer too! Cheers, mate! :-)

  • Which Marshall mod do you use? AGL? where can you buy them? Your tone and playing is right on the money!!

  • is that a waratahs top?

  • @toxicsponge No, NSW blues!

  • Killer tone !!.......Sounds like early Billy Gibbons.....Sweet guitar

  • your a bit weird !! but great playin

  • Very Good!!

What's the model of that Tokai?

  • wow i would kill for one of those tokai guitars

  • Nice tone, even al low volume settings! What type of wiring has that Tokai, standard (modern) or 50's wiring? And caps?

    Thanks.

  • I also have a Tokai's Les Paul standard and a Les Paul special.

    Great sound ! ! !

    However,cheaper than Gibson ! ! !

  • wow! that's a really expensive one :). Give me your opinion m8, a Tokai LS 80 or an Epiphone les paul slash (the newer one, with alnico IIs and better hardware + long tennon neck)? Can't decide :X

  • @joaogil I would choose the LS80. That´s great guitars for money. Give that guitar some upgrades like pots, caps, and some braided shielded wiring, then maybe some cool pickups, a brass saddle bridge and a aluminum STP, and you´ve got an awesome Les Paul guitar!

  • @AcysLounge hey im divided between an epiphone les paul custom and a tokai lc53 les paul, which one would you choose?

  • @MysterioFan02 I guess I would go for the epiphone, as the LC53 is different woods built. The epiphone uses mahogany for body and neck, and the Tokai agathis body and maple neck. If you want Les Paul sound you need the mahogany, so choose the epi or japan made Tokai. cya, ACY

  • @AcysLounge what about amps? since im a beginner i wont need more than a 10 or 15w amp, right?

  • @MysterioFan02 As a beginner just get an amp that sounds right for you. Then it´s up to you make your fingers work right! ;-)

  • @AcysLounge k, thanks alot acy

  • @MysterioFan02 Go for epiphone ,they have the known name, and they are no japanesse crap copy. They are real les pauls, not those wannabe les pauls like greco or tokai.

  • Greetings m8, thats a nice guitar there plus a nice playing :). What model is that Tokai? Except of being japanese

  • @joaogil That´s a higher number, I guess LS230 or higher now!

  • perfect playing/sound, nothing needs adding or taking away.this vid helped me buy a

tokai ls135 , very glad i did too.

'old school' lives and rocks, three cheers for Acys

  • great playing mate, how do you make your backing tracks?

  • @lucaschelsea116 I´m using Logic Express, and Battery for the drums. Some quick programming for the drums, then some bass ........ that´s it!

  • and are the china tokai good too? sorry for my bad english:-p

  • @ AcysLounge: do you know something about vintage guitars (v100)? I like to buy a Tokai or Vintage. greets from germany

  • @Bluthund11 Depends what Tokai you wonna buy Japan or China made one? Japan made are way better than Vintage but also much more money for them. There is the new Faber guitars, as far as I heard that´s very good guitars.

  • good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • has a great sustain.....nice guitar.

  • Great ZZ Top kinda tone! Can You tell us the amp settings there! Thank You!

  • @DarkVelizar Nothing special: Presence 0, Bass about 6, mid 3, treble 1, master 2, and gain about 7, that´s it!

  • Is that a Tokai ALC53? How do you rate it as a Les Paul Standard copy? Any niggles? It's high on my list of guitars to buy but would appreciate any comments. The tone and sustain sounds superb, especially if that's it's raw sound without treatment.

  • @AlanSturgess No, that´s a japan made high quality model. Model number is LS and some bigger number than 200 I guess.

  • HOLY CRAP that guitar has GREAT TONE!!!!

  • where can i get my hands on one of these baby's in sydney, i wouldnt mind travelling either, ive been looking around and i can manage to find the als model which is china made not japanese!! please help! cheers mate!

  • @MusicToMyEars36 If you can´t get one in Australia, try getting one from Japan. But do not forget asking about the weight. Tokai does not drill holes for less weight, so you might get a heavy one (I had one here with about 4.6kg - that´s too heavy for me). Most of the Les Paul models are around 3,9 - 4,2kg, that´s very good. But you have to ask about the weight. If you got further questions, send me mail or pm! cheers, ACY!

  • @AcysLounge hows the shipping if i purchase one from japan?, im just scared that when it arrives the headstock or or neck will be broken, i dont really trust it? as for the weight id prefer the heavier one, i don't want the chambered version for lighter weight, however, which one do you have in this video?

  • @MusicToMyEars36 Check out the Tokai forum, there is japanese shops you can trust in, doing good jobs! Tokai do not have chambered versions, they are all solid. The one from the clip was about 3,8kg.

  • @AcysLounge ok cheers mate, will check out tokai forums. oh i just thought when you said ask about the weight that u meant i could get a light one i.e chambered, sorry i misread it. thanks for your help though, much appreciated!

  • NSW!!!!!!

  • Hey Mate, nice Tokai. Have you still got it? I ask as seems people buy them stating that their great however, somehow go back to GIbsons. Don't want to sound silly, just curious...:-)

    Do you own any Gibson's?

  • @5150VanAlien Hi mate! I owned a lotta Gibsons (Les Pauls, SG´s, Juniors ...), but sold most of them, and do not play the rest anymore. (sometimes) I don´t wonna say Gibsons are not good to me, but I feel better with these japanese built babies! I´m sure I won´t get back with Gibson as my Tokais are the right tool for my hands.

  • @AcysLounge Thanks mate. I'm living in the UK now and tossing up between the Love Rock LS90Q or an ESP Edwards LP Custom (Ebony or the John Sykes model). They're really good value...I might buy one of each. Thanks for the insight.

  • @5150VanAlien yeah buy both more than a gibson makes perfic sense to no one!lol.

  • fantastic chops quality player

  • How much?!

  • @Cgolfsoccerguy Here in Germany such a guitar is about 2000,- EUR.

  • @Cgolfsoccerguy bullshit. IT's about 300dollars!!!

  • whats the model number on this? ... and i like your style.

  • @fatpigiam Thanx mate! I can´t tell you the actual model number, as these change almost every year. That might be a LS260 now.

  • That is a nice sound you got. Whats the model number?

  • Nice playing.

  • never sell it!

  • Nice nice nice =)

  • I have the same guitar <3

  • no doubt after hearing this, YOU have THE sound my friend

  • We must hear you speak or do you only speak thru your guitar? Nice playing and damn nice amp. Peace, happiness, tranquility, free gas!!!

  • @lamathunderbolt There´s already too much talking in Youtube! Sometimes 6 minutes talking, and 30 seconds guitar. So I do not want to bore you with too much talking and let the guitar speak! cya, ACY
