Read my words again, if a woman accuses a man, she needs witnesses. if we were to follow your sufi/shia logic, the question would arise as to who would commit adultry in front of 4 pious witnesses. I am a sunni, and what Shasi si saying is correct. 4 witnesses is not regarding rape victims, only adultery and claims of adultery, fornication. Rape is not consensual, it is a act of force against ones consent. Today our Muslims are so ignorant... lets not argue and lets provide proof.

he claim that rape victims require four witnesses to seek justice for their case is untrue and a false lie propagated by those who either do not have any knowledge in Islamic law or want to prove a so-called weakness in the hadd laws. Circumstantial evidence is sufficient and the judge can invoke his judgment based upon takzir (his own discretion).

And also, what if a woman sleeps with her husband or boyfriend and in the morning accuses her husband of raping her, is it fair to use DNA evidence in that case? Islam protects woman and the man. Both must, equally, provide witnesses. Please check up on this and you will be enlightened. peace

Shadi1007, Adnan is right and you are wrong because all schools are unanimous in stating that if a woman accuses a man, she must provide 4 witnesses, as she might be playing with someone's honour. Rape issue is not black and white judgment may vary based upon circumstances. Cfrb, please check Sahih al-Bukhari for the punishment of apostasy. Quran is not the only source of Islam. When these guys debate, they do their research.

Umm that is not correct. If a Woman is RAPED then she does not have to provide any witnesses at all... I think the four witnessed are only needed for Adultery and fornication. The purpose for the four witnesses is to conceal the sin unless the sinner confesses out of guilt.

The difference between rape and Adultery/fornication is that Rape is not consensual whereas Adultery often is consensual.

also same for Apostasy, Quran says the punishment is hell..but doesnt specify any earthly punishment. Infact it talks about apostates leaving Islam then joining, then leaving then joining etc.. talks nothing about killing.

Quan specifies 4 witnesses only when someone is accusing a female of adultery. It doesnt say anything about 4 witnesses on rape Rape is treated as criminal case where the judge analyses the evidence which can be dna, witnesses camer etc and then gives a verdict. it doesnt need 4 witnesses. it is similar to the current western laws, except th punshment is a lot harsher...ie death sentence. hope sbd corrects adnan on this
