There was a woman really close to my family that died this year. There was a guy speeding on the road she was on, and they crashed head on, and that guy's car was on fire, and they both died. And after an autopsy was done, they found out he was intoxicated. Please don't drink and drive, or text and drive.

Wow!!!! I been driving since i was 16 with my learners permit and now 21 and I always wear my seat belt correctly and sometimes i have to remind others to as well, with just one ticket for going 7 miles over the speed.... Just hearing this makes me not want to be on the road though.

@jlh945 Regular procedure. The authorities and family need to be assured that the victim died from injuries caused by the crash. There are cases where the victims get in a car crash but don't initially die from it; they can die from someone shooting them while driving, a siezure, a stroke, a heart attack. ETC.

@jlh945 I am not being critical of you, sometimes it can be redundant. My 92 y.o. aunt, who was always a little "fruit loopy" lept off of the roof of her apt bldg. She had previously stated that: "demons are telling me to". Still, an autopsy had to be performed.

@jlh945 A lot of states mandate that autopsies be performed in most cases of death unless the person was known to have succumbed to chronic disease/ailment. Even in cases of car accidents an investigation by law enforcement needs to be conducted. The autopsy helps to determine cause and rule out/in any criminal responsibility.
