  • old dutch is the best chips around......hands down.

  • My American friends always comment on how ketchup chips sound horrible to eat. I always ask them, what do they dip their french fries in? And.....end of story.LOL! I love Salt n' Vinegar the best :) Thanks for the memories!

  • This commercial also ran in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, circa 1970-71 and maybe earlier. Young as I was I remember the jingle and the funky sax really well. Been looking for this for the longest time.

  • they were the snappy chips.

  • I remember this ad! Thanks for the memories!

  • Old Dutch Originally started in 1934 In St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1937, they moved to Minneapolis, then in 1968 they moved to Roseville, Minnesota and are still in Roseville Minnesota (US Headquarters). They did open a plant in Winnipeg in 1954 to Manufacture chips for the Canadian Market (Canadian Headquarters).

  • This was exactly the commercial jingle I had been thinking about when I thought of Old Dutch potato chips. Thanks for posting... it brought back some great memories..

  • Old Dutch was started in Winnipeg. They are available in some northern states, but they only sell "ketchup" flavor in Canada. I know, you Americans are thinking....ketchup? Yep, they are the best! I had to send a friend from Kentucky some after he was here and fell in love with them.

  • @huysmanslabas

They sell other flavours up here in Canada. We get Salt & Vinegar, Regular, ripple, ketchup, BBQ, and an assortement of others.

  • @huysmanslabas only ketchup? are you kidding me when I go to the store all the shelves have so many different kinds of old dutch products

  • I have been delivering Old Dutch chips on my route for the last 10 years. We now have 17 varieties in the 235gr. size alone. New varieties come out every year! I had a desk/management job before, and I LOST 25 lbs eating chips almost every day with this job! It goes to show you that it doesn't matter what you eat... its what you do to burn it off!!

  • @huysmanslabas

Actually they started in Minnesota in 1934. Entered the Canadian market in 1954.

  • @huysmanslabas ha fuck off idiot thier canadian not american

  • @Xstr3ngthz What the fuck are you talking about clown?????

  • Aw, I remember this! Thanks for the video! :->

  • I don't think that's the 70s...sounds too dated...try the early 60s.

  • i grew up on old dutch potatoe chips and they are an all Winnipeg Company, I worked in the accounting department for all of 2 weeks....and gained 5 pounds before they fired me

  • Lol.. greetings from a 36 year old Dutch potato ..

    *crackle, crackle* I'TS LAYS! :)

  • I never saw Old Dutch potato chips in until I moved to British Columbia. They might be in B.C. only.

  • They were throughout Western Canada. With the buyout of Humpty Dumpty in 2006, they are now nationwide.

  • I grew up in the west, and when I moved out to Halifax for school I was happy when I noticed the last bags of humpty dumpty came with a sticker saying they were converting to old dutch. Love the dutch crunch

  • Thanks so much, now I'm hungry!

I've never heard of Old Dutch, they must sell them only in certain areas. We're stuck with Pringles and Lays. I think Fritos owns Lays (hence, Frito/Lay). That's a vintage ad, the voice is SOOOO '60s! Well, I must go eat now, thanks to your stimulating video. Who says ads don't work, even after 40 years?

  • My mouth is watering already. I think it's time for some crisps.

  • "...snack, treat or MAIN COURSE?" That's hilarious... Love it! Are 'Old Dutch' a Canadian only brand?

  • I believe so.

  • @tubeie07

Nope, their headquarters are in Roseville, Minnesota, but they opened a plant in Winnipeg in 1954 for the Canadian market.

  • wow you found a classic there lol nice

  • *Simulated* vinegar?? Well, at least they were honest about it...
