Hey hey hey hey, the surname "Hayashi" is common in Japan.
But this stupid ridiculous funny guy who calls himself Hayashi is NOT Japanese, but chinese canadian. He is one of fake Japanese who often inhabit western countries.
In addition, this insane annoying guy who gives out a shrill cry again and again doesn't have a clue about the samurai way in drawing a katana nor in dressing samurai clothes well.
He has nothing to do with Japan nor samurai.
Don't use such a crappy fake as Japanese!

@Maddin667 Indeed! Pulling = Cutting = What a Katana is made for! In addition to this I am absolutely sure that for safety reasons that Katana was nowhere near as sharp as a combat ready one, if that was the case he would've gotten a bad flesh wound. After-all a sword doesn't need to be particularly sharp to cut through a bunch of cucumbers, so a slitghly dull sword would be more than adequately sharp for the type of demonstration performed by this guy.

@bellator11 actually there is no really combat ready katana in present time. There were secret and ancient methods in the Bushido transcripts that had the method to correctly construct and sharpen a "combat ready" katana. Sadly those scrolls were lost so we can only go off passed down techniques and methods that were tested and proven to be somewhat successful. You are right though A combat ready katana, sharpened with the older methods would have easily been able to cut through him and table

aap,..zwaard ? is geen zwaard :/ niet scherp ? trust me dies scherp,..hij is niet echt,..dat kan je zien , is gewoon standaard 1065 hcr (denk ik) ,. niet nep maar bij lange na niet echt,.. denk een hanwei paul chen katana ,
