Addicts can only be helped if they want to be helped. He had his children and his fans to live for but he preferred his addiction. Family has been pretty clear that they knew he had an addiction and tried to reach out to him.
There is no evidence that that was the case. MJ's family claim he believed he was going to be murdered but don't eve say who or why he thought he was going to be killed. It seems likely to me that MJ was suffering from drug-related paranoia. No one goes around saying someone is going to murder me without saying why he thinks so.
